The Development of Mathematical Connection Skills by Using Model - Eliciting Activities on Interest and Value of Money of Eleventh Grade Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop connection skills in mathematic of the student in eleventh grade. The average pass rate of 60 percent of students and 2) to study mathematical connection skills for eleventh grade students after being taught by using Model-Eliciting Activities. The target group of this research was 27 students of eleventh grade in the second semester of 2019 academic year from Roi-et wittayalai school, Muang, Roi-et. They were selected by using Purposive Sampling for 1 classroom. The research methodology is action research which consists of three spirals. The research instruments were: 1) 12 lesson plans of Model-Eliciting Activities, 2) Mathematical connection skills test, 3) the behavior assessment form and 4) the interview form. The data was analyzed by using mean, percentage, standard deviation, and presenting qualitative data by analyzing descriptive data.

The result was as follows:

1. The mathematical connection skills score of eleventh-grade students by using the Model-Eliciting Activities is as follows: In the first, second, and third spirals, the averages are 54.32 percent, 64.20 percent, and 76.95 percent respectively. In the third spiral, each of the students’ scores is higher than 60 percent of the full score, and the connection skill score is increased in the second and third.

2. The students are able to specify the mathematical knowledge that is required to solve problems completely and able to apply that knowledge to create a reasonable connection after being taught by using Model-Eliciting Activities.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมาย คือ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์ ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ Model-Eliciting Activities ให้คะแนนผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 60 ของคะแนนเต็มทั้งหมด และ 2) เพื่อศึกษาทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์ ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 หลังจากที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ Model-Eliciting Activities กลุ่มเป้าหมายได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5/7 โรงเรียนร้อยเอ็ดวิทยาลัย อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2562 นักเรียนกลุ่มที่มีปัญหาทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์ จำนวน 27 คน ซึ่งได้มาจากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ Model-Eliciting Activities 2) แบบทดสอบวัดทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์ 3) แบบประเมินพฤติกรรมทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์ และ 4) แบบสัมภาษณ์นักเรียน เป็นแบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง รูปแบบการวิจัย คือ การวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ (Action Research) ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 3 วงจรปฏิบัติการ ได้แก่ วงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 1 ใช้แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ที่ 1-4 วงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 2 ใช้แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ที่ 5-8 และวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 3 ใช้แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ที่ 9-12 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และนำเสนอข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการพรรณนาวิเคราะห์

ผลการวิจัยปรากฏ ดังนี้

1. ทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 หลังจากการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ Model-Eliciting Activities ในวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 1 2 และ 3 พบว่า นักเรียนมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเป็นร้อยละ 54.32, 64.20 และ 76.95 ตามลำดับ ซึ่งนักเรียนทุกคนผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 60 ของคะแนนเต็มทั้งหมดในวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 3 และนักเรียนมีคะแนนทักษะการเชื่อมโยงทางคณิตศาสตร์สูงขึ้นในวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 2 และ 3

2. นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 สามารถระบุความรู้ทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่จำเป็นต้องใช้ในการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ได้อย่างครบถ้วน และยังสามารถนำความรู้เหล่านั้นไปทำการเชื่อมโยงกันได้อย่างสมเหตุสมผล หลังจากได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ Model-Eliciting Activities
