The Development of English Teachers Development Program on Task-based Language Teaching for Schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 22 Nakhon Phanom

Abstract

The research objectives were 1) to study the current and desirable states on task-based language teaching of English teachers under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom 2) to develop the English teacher’s development program on task-based language teaching for schools under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom. The research was divided into two stages. The first stage was to study the current and desirable states of task-based language teaching of English teachers under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom and the samples were 138 English teachers by the stratified random sampling technique and 2) to develop the English teacher’s development program on task-based language teaching for schools under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom and the participants were 9 experts by purposive sampling. The research instruments were questionnaire, semi-structure interview form, group discussion record form, and satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used in data analysis were arithmetic mean, standard deviation, PNI modified for ranking the desirable states. The qualitative data was obtained from the semi-structure questionnaire and group discussion through content analysis.

The results as follow;

1. The current stage on task-based language teaching of English teachers under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom as a whole was at the medium level while the desirable state on task-based language teaching of English teachers under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom as a whole was the highest level.

2. The English teacher’s development program on task-based language teaching for schools under the secondary educational service area office 22 Nakhon Phanom consisted of 5 components as such 1) principle; 2) objectives; 3) contents consisting of 3 modules as such module 1 pre-task, module 2 task cycle and module 3 post-task; 4) models and methods for development and 5) the program’s assessment while the result of the assessment in appropriation was at highest level and possibility was at high level.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย 1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ด้านการสอนภาษาอังกฤษแบบเน้นภาระงานของครูสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนม 2) เพื่อพัฒนาโปรแกรมพัฒนาครูภาษาอังกฤษด้านการสอนภาษาแบบเน้นภาระงานสำหรับสถานศึกษาสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนมการวิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ระยะ คือ ระยะที่ 1 ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ด้านการสอนภาษาอังกฤษแบบเน้นภาระงานของครูสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนม กลุ่มตัวอย่างได้แก่ครูผู้สอนกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาต่างประเทศวิชาเอกภาษาอังกฤษ จำนวน 138 คน โดยการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้น (Stratified Random Sampling Technique) ระยะที่ 2 การพัฒนาโปรแกรมพัฒนาครูด้านการสอนภาษาอังกฤษแบบเน้นภาระงานสำหรับสถานศึกษาสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนม กลุ่มผู้ให้ข้อมูลได้แก่ ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ จำนวน 9 คน โดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถาม แบบสัมภาษณ์กึ่งโครงสร้าง แบบบันทึกการสนทนากลุ่ม และแบบประเมินความพึงพอใจ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น PNI การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ จากแบบสัมภาษณ์กึ่งโครงสร้าง และแบบบันทึกการสนทนากลุ่ม ด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา (Content Analysis)

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1. ผลการศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการสอนภาษาอังกฤษแบบเน้นภาระงานสำหรับสถานศึกษาสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนมโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการสอนภาษาอังกฤษแบบเน้นภาระงานสำหรับสถานศึกษาสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนม โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด

2. โปรแกรมพัฒนาครูภาษาอังกฤษด้านการสอนภาษาแบบเน้นภาระงานสำหรับสถานศึกษาสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 22 นครพนมมีองค์ประกอบดังนี้ 1) หลักการ 2) วัตถุประสงค์ 3) เนื้อหาและสาระสำคัญแบ่งออกเป็น 3 โมดูล โมดูล 1 Pre-task ขั้นเตรียมงานปฏิบัติ โมดูล 2 Task cycle ขั้นระหว่างการปฏิบัติงาน และโมดูล 3 Post-task ขั้นหลังการปฏิบัติงาน 4) รูปแบบและวิธีการพัฒนา และ 5) การวัดและประเมินผลโปรแกรม ส่วนผลการประเมินความเหมาะสมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด และความเป็นไปได้อยู่ในระดับมาก
