Learning Management Using KWDL Model to Enhance Critical Thinking and Mathematical Problem Solving Abilities on Exponential Function for Mathayomsuksa 4 Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) develop mathematics lesson plans using KWLD model for enhancing critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving skills on the topic of exponential functions for Mathayomsuksa 4 students based on the 70/70 criterion, 2) find out the effectiveness index of using KWDL model to enhance critical thinking and mathematical problem solving abilities on exponential functions for Mathayomsuksa 4 students, 3) compare the mathematics learning achievement on the topic of exponential functions of Mathayomsuksa 4 students, who were taught by the enhancing mathematical problem-solving skills on the topic of exponential functions for Mathayomsuksa 4 students based on the 70% criterion, and 4) compare mathematics problem-solving abilities of the Mathayomsuksa 4 students, who were taught by the mathematics plans using KWLD model, with the 70% criterion, The sample group was 26 Mathayomsuksa 4 students, who were selected by cluster random sampling. The experiment lasted 16 periods, each covering 50 minutes. The instruments in data collection consisted of sixteen 50-minutes lesson plans, an achievement test on the mathematics subject under the topic of exponential functions, which was a multiple-choice test containing 20 items with four answers to select, and a 6-item subjective test to determine the students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The collected data were analyzed by using means of arithmetic mean, means of percentage, standard deviation, and one-sample t-test.

The research results are as follows.

1. Result develop mathematics lesson plans using KWLD model for enhancing critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving skills on the topic of exponential function for Mathayomsuksa 4 students was 77.58/73.85, which is higher the establish criterion of 70/70.

2. The KWDL lesson plan, which enhanced the ability to critically think and solve mathematical problems on the topic of exponential functions for Mathayom Suksa 4 students, had an effectiveness index of 0.4809, indicating the students’ progress at 48.09%.

3. The critical thinking of the students, who were taught by the mathematics lesson plans based on the KWDL model in a topic of exponential functions, was significantly higher than the criteria 70% at the 0.1 level.

4. The mathematical problem-solving of the students, who were taught by the mathematics lesson plans based on the KWDL model in a topic of exponential functions, was significantly higher than the criteria 70% at the .05 level.

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้ มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL เพื่อส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณและการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่อง ฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 70/70 2) เพื่อศึกษาดัชนีประสิทธิผลของแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณและการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่อง ฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ เรื่องฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ของนักเรียนที่เรียนด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL กับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 4) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่องฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ของนักเรียนที่เรียนด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL กับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4/2 โรงเรียนสะพือวิทยาคาร อำเภอตระการพืชผล จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษา เขต 29 ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2562 จำนวน 26 คน จาก 1 ห้อง ซึ่งได้จากการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม (Cluster Random Sampling) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL วิชาคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่องฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 จำนวน 16 แผน แผนละ 1 คาบ คาบละ 50 นาที แบบทดสอบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน เป็นแบบทดสอบเลือกตอบชนิด 4 ตัวเลือก จำนวน 20 ข้อ และแบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณและการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เป็นแบบทดสอบอัตนัย จำนวน 6 ข้อ ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น สถิติสำหรับการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย (Arithmetic Mean) และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard Deviation) และการทดสอบสมมติฐานใช้ one sample t-test

ผลการวิจัยปรากฏดังนี้

1. ผลการพัฒนาแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ด้วยรูปแบบ KWDL ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีมีวิจารณญาณและการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่อง ฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ให้มีประสิทธิภาพ เท่ากับ 77.58/73.85 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ 70/70 ที่ตั้งไว้

2. ผลการศึกษาแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณและการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่อง ฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 นั้นค่าดัชนีประสิทธิผลเท่ากับ 0.4809 แสดงว่านักเรียนมีความก้าวหน้าในการเรียนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 48.09

3. ความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ เรื่อง ฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ KWDL สูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.1

4. ความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาทางคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่อง ฟังก์ชันเอกซ์โพเนนเชียล ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้ด้วยรูปแบบ KWDL สูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
