Historical Tourism Management : A Case Study of Pueai Noi Castle, Pueai Noi District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the historical tourism management in Pueai Noi Castle area, problems and obstacles in historical tourism management of Pueai Noi Castle area, and suggestions for historical tourism management in Pueai Noi Castle area, Pueai Noi District, Khon Kaen Province. Tools used in the research were a questionnaire and an interview form. The sample group included 150 tourists for the respondent of the questionnaire and the interviewees consisted of 15 government officers in relevant agencies and stakeholders. Statistics used in the analysis were percentage, average, standard deviation, and frequency.

The results of the study were as follows:

1. The study of historical tourism management in Pueai Noi Castle area, Khon Kaen Province, found that the overall tourism management was at high level. When considering in each aspect, it showed that there was one aspect in the highest level which was historical attraction, there were 2 aspects in high level, historical tourism activities and transportation sequentially, and there was one aspect, facilities, at moderate level.

2. The study of problems and obstacles in the management of historical tourism in the area of Pueai Noi Castle found that the major problems and obstacles were; transportation: not enough buses to meet the demand; facilities: toilets were too far from tourist spots; historical attractions: the Castle itself, there was no clear explanation of its history; and the historical tourism activities: no interesting activity.

3. The results of the study on suggestions for solving problems in historical tourism management in the area of Pueai Noi Castle found that the suggestions to solve important problems were; the transportation: buses should be provided continuous; the facilities: staffs should be provided to look after the tourist sites on a regular basis; the historical attractions: there should have unique products which relate to the history of Pueai Noi Castle; and the historical tourism activities: there should be enhanced incentives for people in the community to be involved in more activities.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ในพื้นที่ปราสาทเปือยน้อย ปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ในพื้นที่ปราสาทเปือยน้อย และข้อเสนอแนะในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ในพื้นที่ปราสาทเปือยน้อย อำเภอเปือยน้อย จังหวัดขอนแก่น เครื่องที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามและแบบสัมภาษณ์ โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการตอบแบบสอบถาม คือ นักท่องเที่ยว จำนวน 150 คน และผู้ให้สัมภาษณ์ ประกอบด้วย เจ้าหน้าที่รัฐในหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย จำนวน 15 คน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และความถี่

ผลการศึกษามีดังต่อไปนี้

1. ผลการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ในพื้นที่ปราสาทเปือยน้อย จังหวัดขอนแก่น พบว่าการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่าอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด 1 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านสิ่งดึงดูดใจเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ อยู่ในระดับมาก 2 ด้าน โดยเรียงลำดับจากมากไปหาน้อย ได้แก่ ด้านกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ และด้านการคมนาคม และอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง 1 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก

2. ผลการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ในพื้นที่ปราสาทเปือยน้อย พบว่าปัญหาและอุปสรรคที่สำคัญด้านการคมนาคม ได้แก่ รถโดยสารไม่เพียงพอต่อความต้องการ ด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก ได้แก่ ห้องน้ำห่างไกลจากบริเวณแหล่งท่องเที่ยว ด้านสิ่งดึงดูดใจเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ ภายในตัวปราสาทไม่มีคำอธิบายบอกความเป็นมาที่ชัดเจน และด้านกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ ไม่มีกิจกรรมที่น่าสนใจ

3. ผลการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับข้อเสนอแนะในการแก้ไขปัญหาในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ในพื้นที่ปราสาทเปือยน้อย พบว่าข้อเสนอแนะในการแก้ไขปัญหาที่สำคัญด้านการคมนาคม ได้แก่ ควรจัดให้มีรถโดยสารประจำทางอย่างต่อเนื่อง ด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก ได้แก่ ควรจัดเจ้าหน้าที่เข้ามาดูแลแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเป็นประจำ ด้านสิ่งดึงดูดใจเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ ควรมีสินค้าที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์เชิงประวัติศาสตร์ของปราสาทเปือยน้อย และด้านกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ ควรมีการสร้างแรงจูงใจเพื่อให้คนในชุมชนเข้ามาให้ความร่วมมือในการจัดกิจกรรมต่างๆมากขึ้น
