ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) เทคนิคการบรรเลงพิณลายจากศิลปินต้นแบบพื้นบ้านอีสาน คือ เทคนิคการบรรเลงพิณขั้นพื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับเครื่องดนตรี และ เทคนิคการบรรเลงพิณลายลำเพลินโบราณ ลายลำเพลินประยุกต์ และลายเต้ยประยุกต์ 2) สร้างสรรค์ลายพิณจากศิลปินต้นแบบพื้นบ้านอีสาน นำเทคนิค การทำเสียงเสพหรือเสียงประสาน การเปลี่ยนบันไดเสียง การดีดแบบลื่น ตามอัตลักษณ์ของศิลปินต้นแบบพื้นบ้านอีสานมาสร้างสรรค์ลายดนตรีพื้นบ้าน เพื่ออนุรักษ์และเผยแพร่ต่อไป
