Abstract: The Lijiang River Painting takes Chinese painting as its main form of expression, it has an important historical position in the national Chinese painting in the form of natural and full of humanity. The Lijiang River painting is depended on Lijiang River, it reflects the natural and geographical information and human history of the Lijiang River Place, Lijiang painting is the presentation of the relationship between man and nature, man and society, and man to man, and is a part of the cultural ecology of Lijiang River Place. Therefore, this paper takes Lijiang painting as the research object, using the relevant theoretical methods of folklore, sociology, anthropology and art, From the perspective of “social life of things”, this paper investigates on Lijiang painting, analyzes the social process and development reasons of Lijiang painting, in order to show a foundation for the further development of Lijiang painting, the ecological information of Lijiang culture contained in Lijiang painting is discussed. The main research objectives of this thesis are as follows: 1. Study on the cultural ecology at the Lijiang River place.2. Study on Lijiang paintings in relation to the cultural ecology of Lijiang River place. 3. Analyze the unit and structure of “Guilin Museum”. First of all, through the investigation of Lijiang River, it is found that Lijiang River is located in Guilin City, Guangxi Province, with unique ecological environment, suitable for human living. Since 30000 years ago, some people have lived in the Lijiang River Place. After tens of thousands of years of inheritance and development, the various ethnic groups in the Lijiang River Place are intertwined and integrated, and the Lijiang River Place has formed a cultural ecosystem of multi-cultural coexistence. Secondly, the emergence and development of Lijiang painting is closely related to the ecological culture of Lijiang River Place. The cultural ecology of Lijiang River Place is the basis for the inheritance and development of Lijiang painting. As an artifact, the emergence and development of Lijiang painting are inseparable from the people in Lijiang River Place. The development of The Lijiang River painting indicated the changes in the history of the culture and ecologicy of the Lijiang River over the ages. In the symbol chain of landscape painting in different periods, the main line of cultural ecological change is implied. Finally, Guilin Museum, as the connection point of Lijiang social life, takes Guilin Museum as the analysis unit, This paper analyzes in detail the relationship between the real historical situation and social outlook of Lijiang River and the paintings of Lijiang River. And analyzes the details in the relationship among the real historical situation and social appearance and Lijiang painting in each period of Lijiang River. Guilin Museum has collected more than 20000 artifacts from ancient times to the present. These artifacts prove the real historical situation and social outlook of Lijiang River in different periods. The historical situation and social outlook of Lijiang River have a profound impact on the development of Lijiang painting, which has continued to the modern times. Lijiang painting is closely related to the social development of Lijiang. In conclusion, Lijiang painting is the presentation of the relationship between man and nature, man and society, and man to man. Lijiang painting is a manifestation of Lijiang cultural ecology, which is a part of Lijiang cultural ecology. From the perspective of “the social life of things”, it is necessary to write social life for Lijiang painting, Throughout the development process of Lijiang painting, Lijiang painting is also in dynamic development, it will continue to develop and diversify with social progress and Lijiang cultural ecological changing.
