Development of the Mo Lam Concert Show from Ra biab Wa thasil

Abstract

Development of the Mor Lam concert-style from Ra Bieb Wathasil was qualitative research. The study was intended to investigate history and development of Ra Bieb Wathasil troupe’s Mor Lam concert performance and to examine its style of concert performance. Documentary data, a review of literature, and field data were obtained. Research instruments employed in this study were observation sheets and interviews. The samples of this study included two leaders of the Rabieb Wathasil troupe, two Mor lum masters, 14 performers, and 20 audiences. The results were presented through a descriptive analysis.

The results demonstrated that the Mor Lam concert performance of the Ra Bieb Wathasil troupe had been continuously developing. Owing to the social trend of globalization and appreciation among audiences from past to present, its style of performance shifted from a normal opening act to cultural promotion by applying performing arts of four regions of Thailand in its performance. Thus, its elements included singers, dancers, costumes, songs, music, lighting, and sound. Apart from that, a variety of cultures were presented through its performance, such as a musical play and performance of the creative folk dance. Therefore, the troupe served as a pioneer in recreating Isan folk literature to fulfill the audiences’ needs and appreciation.

Thus, the present study was intended to examine the development of the Ra Bieb Wathasil troupe’s style of concert performance. Its performance combined modern culture with traditional culture of the local communities by improvement and modernization. Such a combination was cultural assimilation to meet the target audiences’ appreciation without abandoning localness. The performance style of folk song bands applied to the Mor Lam performance led to the development of Mor Lam in diverse dimensions in order to preserve itself and to improve the Mor Lam performance in Isan.

พัฒนาการรูปแบบการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตหมอลำคณะระเบียบวาทะศิลป์ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีความมุ่งหมายในการวิจัย ดังนี้ 1. เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมาและพัฒนาการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตของหมอลำคณะระเบียบวาทะศิลป์ 2. เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตของหมอลำคณะระเบียบวาทะศิลป์ ผู้วิจัยทำการรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสาร งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง และการลงพื้นที่ภาคสนาม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บข้อมูล ได้แก่ แบบสังเกต แบบสัมภาษณ์ จากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ หัวหน้าคณะหมอลำระเบียบวาทะศิลป์ 2 คน ครูฝึกจำนวน 2 คน ศิลปินนักแสดง จำนวน 14 คน และผู้ชมจำนวน 20 คนแล้วนำเสนอผลการวิจัยด้วยวิธีพรรณณาวิเคราะห์

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า พัฒนาการรูปแบบการแสดงของหมอลำคณะระเบียบวาทะศิลป์มีพัฒนาการอย่างต่อเนื่อง ด้วยกระแสสังคมโลกาภิวัฒน์และกระแสความนิยมของผู้ชมจากอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน ส่งผลให้การพัฒนารูปแบบการแสดงมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงจากการแสดงร้องเพลงเปิดวงธรรมดา เป็นการส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรม โดยนำเอาศิลปะการแสดงสี่ภาคของไทยเข้ามาประยุกต์ใช้ในการแสดง มีองค์ประกอบคือ นักร้อง แดนเซอร์ เครื่องแต่งกาย เพลง ดนตรี แสงสี และเสียง ให้มีความสวยงามอลังการ นอกจากนี้ยังมีการนำเอาวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลายมานำเสนอบนเวทีหมอลำ เช่น การแสดงละครเวที การแสดงนาฏศิลป์พื้นบ้านสร้างสรรค์ โดยเป็นผู้ริเริ่มการนำเอาวรรณกรรมพื้นบ้านอีสานมาสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นใหม่ เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการและกระแสนิยมของผู้ชม

ดังนั้น ผู้วิจัยสนใจที่จะศึกษาพัฒนาการรูปแบบการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตหมอลำคณะระเบียบวาทะศิลป์ ซึ่งมีการแสดงหมอลำที่เป็นการผสมผสานวัฒนธรรมสมัยใหม่เข้ากับวัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิมของท้องถิ่นโดยการพัฒนาและการประยุกต์ให้ทันสมัย เป็นการปรับปรนทางวัฒนธรรมเพื่อตอบรับความนิยมของกลุ่มเป้าหมาย โดยไม่ละทิ้งความเป็นท้องถิ่นคุณค่าของมหรสพนั้นก็จะยังคงอยู่ รูปแบบของโชว์ในวงดนตรีลูกทุ่งที่ถูกนำมาใช้ในการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตของหมอลำ ทำให้เกิดการพัฒนาหมอลำในมิติต่าง ๆ เพื่อเป็นการสืบทอดและเป็นแนวทางในการพัฒนาการแสดงหมอลำในภาคอีสานให้อยู่ในความนิยมอีกยาวนาน
