Developing Scientific Explanation of Grade 10 Students in Biology by Socio-Biological Case-Based Learning

Abstract

This action research aims to develop the scientific explanation ability of Grade 10 students to pass the good level using socio-biological case-based learning in biology on the topic Immune system. The target group consisted of 21 students in grade 10 at Mahasarakham University Demonstration School (Secondary). The research instrument was: plan of instrument using socio-biological case-based learning. The instruments used to reflect the results were: scientific explanation test, student behavior observation, semi structure interviews, and student journal. The data were analyzed by percentage, average, and standard deviation. Action research is completed in two cycles. The results showed in the first cycle, 18 students received an average scientific explanation score of 9.62 out of a total of 12 points, representing 80.16 percent, and 3 students did not meet the good level criterion. In the second cycle, 21 students received an average scientific explanation score of 10.90 out of a total of 12 points, representing 90.87 percent.

งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยปฏิบัติการในชั้นเรียน มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถในการสร้างคำอธิบายเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ให้ผ่านเกณฑ์ระดับดีด้วยการจัดกิจกรรมเรียนรู้โดยใช้กรณีทางชีวสังคมเป็นฐาน วิชาชีววิทยา เรื่อง ระบบภูมิคุ้มกัน กลุ่มเป้าหมาย คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4/7 โรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม (ฝ่ายมัธยม) จำนวน 21 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้กรณีทางชีวสังคมเป็นฐาน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการสะท้อนผล ได้แก่ แบบวัดความสามารถในการสร้างคำอธิบายเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์ แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมนักเรียน แบบสัมภาษณ์นักเรียน และอนุทินของนักเรียน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ดำเนินการวิจัย 2 วงจรปฏิบัติการ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ในวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 1 นักเรียนมีคะแนนการสร้างคำอธิบายเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์เฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 9.62 จากคะแนนเต็ม 12 คะแนน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 80.16 มีนักเรียนที่คะแนนผ่านเกณฑ์ระดับดี จำนวน 18 คน และนักเรียนที่คะแนนไม่ผ่านเกณฑ์ระดับดีจำนวน 3 คน และในวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 2 ทำการพัฒนา ปรับปรุงแก้ไขจากวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 1 นักเรียนมีคะแนนการสร้างคำอธิบายเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์เฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 10.90 คะแนน จากคะแนนเต็ม 12 คะแนน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 90.87 นักเรียนกลุ่มเป้าหมายมีคะแนนผ่านเกณฑ์ระดับดีทั้งหมด 21 คน
