Development of Learning Achievement and Analytical Reading Ability by using SQ4R Learning Activities for Thai Language Subject Area, Prathomsuksa Six Students

Abstract

Analytical reading is fundamental to the development of human knowledge. This allows the reader to use their intelligence to think about the correct reasoning. The test results of the students in reading had lower average scores than the district level, provincial level, affiliate level, and national level. The SQ4R method of learning activities is another type of learning management used to develop analytical reading abilities. The researcher is interested in using SQ4R learning activities to develop the analytical reading ability of Prathomsueksa 6 students. The objectives of the study were to 1) develop an analytical reading learning management plan by using SQ4R learning activities for Thai language subject area, Prathomsueksa 6 students, effective on the 80/80 criteria. 2) To compare the achievement in learning before and after school by using learning activities SQ4R learning for Thai language subject area, Prathomsueksa 6 students. 3) To compare analytical reading ability before and after using SQ4R learning activities, for Thai language subject area, Prathomsueksa 6 students. 4) To study the satisfaction of Prathomsueksa 6 students, they are affecting their learning with SQ4R learning activities for Thai language subject area. The sample consisted of students in Prathomsueksa 6 students in the second semester of the academic year 2021 at Ban Khok Sung Nong Siao Nong Khi School in Wapipathum District, Mahasarakham Province under Maha Sarkham Primary Educational Sevice Area Office 2. There were 22 people by Purposive Sampling. The instruments consisted of 1) an analytical reading learning management plan by using SQ4R learning activities for Thai language subject area, 15 plans, spending 16 hours. 2) The analytical reading achievement test of Prathomsueksa 6 students created by the researcher was a multiple choice with 4 options and 40 items. The discrimination power ranges from 0.29 to 0.57, and the confidence value of the whole issue is 0.82. 3) The analytical reading test of Prathomsueksa 6 students created by the researcher was a four-choice, 40-item multiple choice with a discriminant power ranging from 0.29-0.71 and a confidence value of 0.86. 4) The satisfaction measure of Prathomsueksa 6 students using the learning activities SQ4R method had the satisfaction index of the satisfaction questionnaire at 0.93. The statistics used in the data analysis were mean, percentage, standard deviation, and used statistics to examine the hypothesis comparing the difference in mean scores before and after school by t-test dependent.

The research results were as follows:

1. An analytical reading learning management plan by using SQ4R learning activities for Thai language subject area Prathomsueksa 6 students' performance, is 85.75/84.55, which is above the threshold set at 80/80.

2. Prathomsueksa 6 students who studied by using SQ4R learning activities had significantly higher analytical thinking than before learning at the .05 level.

3. The analytical reading ability of Prathomsueksa 6 students before and after the experiment was different. The mean after the experiment was significantly higher than before the experiment at the 0.05 levels.

4. Prathomsueksa 6 satisfaction with SQ4R learning activities in Thai language subject area., the students' satisfaction was at the highest level.

It can be concluded that the SQ4R learning activity plan was efficient and effective and suitable for developing students' ability to read critically. Therefore, teachers should be encouraged to implement a plan of learning activities like SQ4R that will be used for further learning activities.

การอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์เป็นพื้นฐานในการพัฒนาความรู้ของมนุษย์ ทำให้ผู้อ่านสามารถใช้สติปัญญาคิดไตร่ตรองหาเหตุผลที่ถูกต้อง ผลการทดสอบของนักเรียนด้านการอ่านมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยต่ำกว่าระดับเขตพื้นที่ ระดับจังหวัด ระดับสังกัดและระดับประเทศ วิธีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R เป็นการจัดการเรียนรู้อีกแบบหนึ่งที่ใช้ในการพัฒนาความสามารถด้านการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ได้ ผู้วิจัยจึงสนใจนำการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ SQ4R มาพัฒนาความสามารถด้านการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 การวิจัยนี้มีความมุ่งหมายของการวิจัยเพื่อ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้การอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ โดยใช้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R สาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทย ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน ก่อนและหลังเรียน โดยการใช้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R สาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทย ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ก่อนและหลังการใช้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R สาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทย ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 4) เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่มีต่อการเรียนด้วยกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทย กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่กำลังศึกษาใน ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2564 โรงเรียนบ้านโคกสูงหนองเสียวหนองขี อำเภอวาปีปทุม จังหวัดมหาสารคาม สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษามหาสารคามเขต 2 จำนวน 22 คน ได้มาโดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ให้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้การอ่านเชิงอ่านวิเคราะห์ โดยใช้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R กลุ่มสาระภาษาไทย จำนวน 15 แผน ใช้เวลา 16 ชั่วโมง 2) แบบทดสอบวัดผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น เป็นแบบปรนัย 4 ตัวเลือก จำนวน 40 ข้อ มีค่าอำนาจจำแนกตั้งแต่ 0.29 – 0.57 ค่าความเชื่อมั่นทั้งฉบับมีค่าเท่ากับ 0.82 3) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถด้านการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น เป็นแบบปรนัย 4 ตัวเลือก จำนวน 40 ข้อ มีค่าอำนาจจำแนกตั้งแต่ 0.29 – 0.71 ค่าความเชื่อมั่นทั้งฉบับมีค่าเท่ากับ 0.86 4) แบบวัดความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 โดยใช้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องของแบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจเท่ากับ 0.93 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และใช้สถิติเพื่อตรวจสอบสมมติฐานการเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างของค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียนโดยค่าทีแบบไม่อิสระ (t-test dependent)

ผลการวิจัยปรากฏ ดังนี้

1. แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทย ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 มีประสิทธิภาพ 85.75/84.55 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ 80/80 ที่ตั้งไว้

2. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่เรียนโดยการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R มีการคิดวิเคราะห์สูงกว่าก่อนเรียนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

3. ความสามารถด้านการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ก่อนการทดลองและหลังการทดลองแตกต่างกัน โดยค่าเฉลี่ยหลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

4. ความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่มีต่อการเรียนด้วยกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทย ในภาพรวมนักเรียนมีความพึงพอใจอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด

โดยสรุปแผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R มีประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผล เหมาะสำหรับการนำไปพัฒนาผู้เรียนให้มีความสามารถในการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ จึงควรส่งเสริมให้ครูนำแผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้แบบ SQ4R ไปใช้ในการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ต่อไป
