A Study of Factors Affecting Digital Quotient of Undergraduate Students of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of digital quotient (DQ) of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) undergraduate students, 2) to study the factors that correlate with the digital quotient of the students, and 3) to study the relationship between digital quotient and factors influencing digital quotient of the students. The sample were 377 MCU undergraduate students in the academic year 2021 recruited to the survey using muti-stage random sampling. The factors affecting Digital Quotient of Undergraduate Students Questionnaire was used for collecting data (r=.313 - .848) The descriptive statistics was used to analyze data along with Pearson correlation coefficient, and regression analysis. The results found as follows:

1. MCU undergraduate students possessed a high level of DQ in which the three highest mean score were “Keeping own safety aspect”, “Digital footprints management”, and “Privacy management”, respectively.

2. The factors related to the DQ of MCU undergraduate students overall were at a high level including “Motivation for cyber use”, “Learning management to enhance digital Intelligence”, “Role of family/guardian toward digital Intelligence”, and “Instruction environment”, respectively.

3. The four factors influencing DQ of the students consisted of Instruction environment (INEN), Motivation for cyber use (MFCU), Role of family/guardian toward digital quotient (RFDQ), and Learning management to enhance digital quotient (LMDQ). All 4 factors can be combined. The students' digital quotient can be predicted with a predictive power of 49.7%. and by writing the forecasting equation in the form of standard scores as follows.

Z’y = .222 RFDQ + .243 INEN + .288 MFCU + .060 LMDQ

การวิจัยครั้งมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิตระดับปริญญาตรี มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย 2) ศึกษาระดับของปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์ต่อความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิต และ 3) ศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิต กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นิสิตปริญญาตรี มหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย ปีการศึกษา 2564 จำนวน 377 คน/รูป ได้มาโดยการสุ่มแบบหลายขั้นตอน เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามการศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์และความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิตปริญญาตรี วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา การวิเคราะห์สัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ และการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1. นิสิตปริญญาตรีมีความฉลาดทางดิจิทัล โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เรียงลำดับค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปหาน้อยสามลำดับแรก คือ ด้านการรักษาความปลอดภัยของตนเอง ด้านการจัดการบริหารข้อมูลที่ผู้ใช้งานมีการทิ้งไว้บนโลกออนไลน์ และด้านการรักษาข้อมูลส่วนตัว ตามลำดับ

2. ระดับของปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์ต่อความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิตปริญญาตรี โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เรียงลำดับค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปหาน้อย ได้ดังนี้ แรงจูงใจในการใช้งานโลกไซเบอร์ การจัดการเรียนการสอนที่ส่งเสริมความฉลาดทางดิจิทัล บทบาทของผู้ปกครองที่มีต่อความฉลาดทางดิจิทัล และสภาพแวดล้อมทางการเรียน ตามลำดับ

3. ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิตปริญญาตรี ประกอบด้วย สภาพแวดล้อมทางการเรียน แรงจูงใจในการใช้งานโลกไซเบอร์ บทบาทของผู้ปกครองที่มีต่อความฉลาดทางดิจิทัล และการจัดการเรียนการสอนที่ส่งเสริมความฉลาดทางดิจิทัล โดยปัจจัยทั้ง 4

สามารถร่วมกันพยากรณ์ความฉลาดทางดิจิทัลของนิสิตได้โดยมีค่าอำนาจการพยากรณ์คิดเป็นร้อยละ 49.70 โดยเขียนสมการพยากรณ์ในรูปคะแนนมาตรฐาน ได้ดังนี้
