Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1. To study the history of the community and the relationship of people with the belief in ghosts in the community 2. To study social capital and social structure through animism 3. To study the process of community empowerment through animism. The researcher used qualitative research by studying the context of Ban Mueang Bua Community Mueang Bua Sub-district Kaset Wisai District Roi Et Province.

The results showed that The belief in ghosts of the Ban Muang Bua community is an important tool in building the power of the people in the community This creates a common sense of conservation of natural resources Ancient sites and religious sites From the study of local history it was found that people in the community had worshiped ancestral spirits since the beginning of the community The spirit of Pru ta is the main sacred thing of the community. Ghosts are used to deal with problems that occur in the community such as the expansion of the community after 1942 Need more living space due to population density Thus, a new group of ghosts was born to help take care of the community's residential areas It also uses ghosts to negotiate the power of the state, which is the development policy of Bua Municipality that affects people in the community Using ghosts to control drug-related family members The use of ghosts in the maintenance of livestock by community cattle groups so that group members have time to engage in other activities to earn extra income during the post-harvest season There is also a revival of the Song Ku tradition so that people in the community can show respect for the sacred power of the spirits who take care of the community at the same time The Song Ku tradition also preserves the power of spiritual beliefs to be more intense and sacred.

งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายคือ 1. เพื่อศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ชุมชนและความสัมพันธ์ของคนกับความเชื่อเรื่องผีที่มีในชุมชน 2. เพื่อศึกษาทุนทางสังคมและโครงสร้างทางสังคมผ่านความเชื่อเรื่องผี 3. เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการสร้างพลังของชุมชนผ่านความเชื่อเรื่องผี ผู้วิจัยใช้การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพโดยศึกษาจากบริบทของชุมชนบ้านเมืองบัว ตำบลเมืองบัว อำเภอเกษตรวิสัย จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความเชื่อเรื่องผีของชุมชนบ้านเมืองบัวเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการสร้างพลังของคนในชุมชน ทำให้เกิดสำนึกร่วมกันในการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ โบราณสถานและพื้นที่ทางความเชื่อ จากประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่นที่ศึกษาพบว่าคนในชุมชนมีการนับถือผีบรรพบุรุษตั้งแต่แรกเริ่มการตั้งชุมชน โดยมีผีปู่ตาเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์หลักของชุมชน มีการใช้ผีในการจัดการปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในชุมชน เช่น การขยายตัวของชุมชนในช่วงหลัง พ.ศ.2485 ที่ต้องการพื้นที่อยู่อาศัยเพิ่มเนื่องจากความหนาแน่นของประชากร จึงเกิดผีกลุ่มใหม่ที่ช่วยดูแลพื้นที่อยู่อาศัยของชุมชน อีกทั้งยังใช้ผีในการต่อรองอำนาจของรัฐซึ่งเป็นนโยบายการพัฒนาของเทศบาลเมืองบัวที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อคนในชุมชน การใช้ผีในการควบคุมสมาชิกในครอบครัวที่ยุ่งเกี่ยวกับยาเสพติด การใช้ผีในการดูแลรักษาสัตว์เลี้ยงของกลุ่มเลี้ยงวัวในชุมชนเพื่อให้สมาชิกในกลุ่มมีเวลาในการประกอบกิจกรรมอื่นเพื่อหารายได้เสริมในช่วงหลังฤดูกาลเก็บเกี่ยว อีกทั้งยังมีการฟื้นฟูประเพณีสรงกู่เพื่อให้คนในชุมชนได้แสดงออกถึงความเคารพอำนาจศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของผีผู้ดูแลรักษาชุมชนอย่างพร้อมเพียงกัน ประเพณีสรงกู่ยังเป็นการรักษาอำนาจทางความเชื่อเรื่องผีให้เข้มข้นและศักดิ์สิทธิ์ขึ้น

ความเชื่อเรื่องผีของคนในชุมชนบ้านเมืองบัว ทำให้เข้าใจชุมชนในระบบโครงสร้างและการจัดระบบทางสังคมโดยเฉพาะการให้ความสำคัญการระบบเครือญาติ เกิดเครือข่ายทางสังคมที่ใช้ทรัพยากรร่วมกันในการจัดการกับปัญหา เกิดเครือข่ายทางเศรษฐกิจ ผีจึงเป็นเครื่องมือที่สำคัญของคนในชุมชนบ้านเมืองบัวที่ทำให้เกิดพลังในการขับเคลื่อนชุมชนในรูปแบบต่างๆ เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ให้ผู้คนเคารพและปฏิบัติตาม ผีจึงเปรียบเสมือนเป็นทุนทางวัฒนธรรมและความเชื่อที่สำคัญที่สุดของคนในชุมชนบ้านเมืองบัว
