Applying of Human Centred Design Theory for Mobile application Development with public transport map in Mahasarakham Municipality

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) explore and analyze the basic infrastructure of the public transportation system in Maha Sarakham Municipality; 2) develop the graphic mapping and application software to provide the guide to the Maha Sarakham public transportation system based on the key concept of Human-Centered Design; and 3) evaluate the media quality in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and the user’s satisfaction after trying the model application. The sample group was divided into 2 groups: 1) the sample group for the field-work data collection before creating the application including 1) 3 government representatives, 2) 3 specialists, and 3) 100 people; and 2) the sample group for the model application evaluation including 1) 3 government representatives, 2) 4 specialists, and 3) 50 people. Several research tools were used including 1) observation form, 2) in-depth interview form, 3) questionnaire, 4) evaluation form on the model graphic mapping quality; and 5) evaluation form on the model application. Additionally, the statistics for data analysis was used to find the mean score and standard deviation.

The research outcome was indicated that 1) there is 4 routes of Mini Bus in Maha Sarakham municipality including Route 1, 3, 4, and 4660 with 29 stops in total; 2) based on the 6 steps of Human-Centered Design, the model graphic mapping requires several components comprising: 1) logo design, 2) mapping design, 3) routing design, 4) symbol design, and 5) application usage design; meanwhile, the model application requires: 1) application appearance design (UI), and 2) user’s experience design (UX); and 3) according to the evaluation on the media’s effectiveness and efficiency, and user’s satisfaction after trying the model application, the graphic mapping gains the total score from the 4 specialists at a good quality level (mean score 3.70) and the total score for the model application from the government representatives and people was similarly rated at a good quality level (mean score 4.22).

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ดังนี้ 1) เพื่อศึกษาและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโครงสร้างการให้บริการ พื้นฐานของระบบขนส่งสาธารณะในเขตเทศบาลเมืองมหาสารคาม 2) เพื่อพัฒนาแผนที่กราฟิกและ แอปพลิเคชันการให้ข้อมูลการใช้ระบบขนส่งสาธารณะในเขตเทศบาลเมืองมหาสารคาม บนพื้นฐานของการประยุกต์ใช้ทฤษฎีมนุษย์เป็นศูนย์ กลางของการออกแบบ 3) เพื่อประเมินคุณภาพสื่อด้านประสิทธิภาพ ประสิทธิผลและความพึงพอใจ ในการใช้งานแผนที่กราฟิกและแอปพลิเคชันต้นแบบ โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในงานวิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 กลุ่มประกอบไปด้วย 1) กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม ก่อนการผลิตสื่อมีดังนี้ (1) ภาครัฐ 3 คน (2) ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 3 คน (3) ภาคประชาชน 100 คน 2) กลุ่มทดลองในการประเมินคุณภาพสื่อต้นแบบ หลังการผลิตสื่อได้แก่ (1) ภาครัฐ 3 คน (2) ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 4 คน (3) ภาคประชาชน 50 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย 1) แบบจดบันทึกการสังเกตการณ์ 2) แบบสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก 3) แบบสอบถาม 4) แบบประเมินคุณภาพสื่อต้นแบบแผนที่กราฟิก 5) แบบประเมินคุณภาพสื่อต้นแบบแอปพลิเคชัน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบไปด้วย ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน

ผลการวิจัยสำคัญพบว่า 1) รถสองแถวที่โดยสารในเขตเทศบาลเมืองมหาสารคามมี 4 เส้นทางได้แก่ สายที่ 1 สายที่ 3 สายที่ 4 สายที่ 4660 โดยมีจุดจอดหลักจำนวน 29 จุดจอด 2) ในการพัฒนา สื่อต้นแบบบนพื้นฐานของการประยุกต์ใช้ทฤษฎีมนุษย์เป็นศูนย์กลางของการออกแบบ 6 ขั้นตอนพบว่า ด้านสื่อต้นแบบแผนที่กราฟิกมีองค์ประกอบสำคัญด้านการออกแบบประกอบไปด้วย (1) การออกแบบโลโก้ (2) การออกแบบแผนที่ (3) การออกแบบข้อมูลเส้นทาง (4) การออกแบบภาพสัญลักษณ์สำคัญ (5) การออกแบบขั้นตอนการใช้งานแอปพลิเคชัน ด้านสื่อต้นแบบแอปพลิเคชันมีองค์ประกอบสำคัญด้านการออกแบบประกอบไปด้วย (1) การออกแบบหน้าตาแอปพลิเคชัน (UI) (2) การออกแบบประสบการณ์การใช้งาน (UX) 3) การประเมินคุณภาพสื่อด้านประสิทธิภาพ ประสิทธิผลและความพึงพอใจ ในการใช้งานแผนที่กราฟิกและแอปพลิเคชันต้นแบบ โดยผลการประเมินคุณภาพสื่อด้านแผนที่กราฟิกคะแนนรวมจากการศึกษารวมด้าน โดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 4 ท่านอยู่ในระดับคุณภาพดี โดยมีค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 3.70 และผลโดยรวมการประเมินคุณภาพสื่อด้านแอปพลิเคชัน กับผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ภาครัฐและภาคประชาชนอยู่ในระดับคุณภาพดี โดยมีค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 4.22
