THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION LITERACY SKILL IN NURSING INFORMATICS COURSE

Abstract

This research aims to study information literacy of students from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahasarakram University and to develop information literacy skills of students in the Faculty of Nursing. The sample group were 82 undergraduate students of the Faculty of Nursing, Mahasarakram University who enrolled in nursing informatics course in the first semester of 2017. The instruments used in the research were 1) questionnaires on the information literacy of students of the Faculty of Nursing 2) information literacy development activities, and 3) the test on information literacy of students in the Faculty of Nursing.

The results of the study showed that the first information source used by nursing students was Internet via a smartphone. Most of the nursing students joined the online database searching activity which was the information literacy activities organized by Academic Resource Center. The overall of information literacy and information literacy standards among nursing students were high level, but five indicators of information literacy standards were moderate level. Furthermore, there are four main activities that help develop information literacy skills of nursing students. After the implementation of the activities for developing information literacy skills, the results showed that nursing students had higher information literacy skills with the significance level of .01

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ ศึกษาสภาพการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม และเพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นิสิตระดับปริญญาตรีคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนในรายวิชาสารสนเทศทางการพยาบาล ประจำปีการศึกษา 1/2560 จำนวน 82 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ 1) แบบสอบถามสภาพการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ 2) กิจกรรมพัฒนาทักษะการรู้สารสนเทศ และ 3) แบบทดสอบวัดการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์

ผลการวิจัยที่เกี่ยวกับสภาพการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตพยาบาล พบว่า แหล่งสารสนเทศที่นิสิตพยาบาลใช้เป็นอันดับแรก คือ อินเทอร์เน็ต โดยสืบค้นผ่านโทรศัพท์มือถือส่วนบุคคลและกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการรู้สารสนเทศที่จัดโดยสำนักวิทยบริการที่นิสิตพยาบาลเข้าร่วมมากที่สุด คือ กิจกรรมการสืบค้นสารสนเทศจากฐานข้อมูลออนไลน์ ส่วนระดับการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตพยาบาลโดยรวมและรายมาตรฐานอยู่ในระดับมาก แต่รายตัวบ่งชี้พบว่ามีจำนวน 5 ตัวบ่งชี้ที่อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และกิจกรรมที่ใช้พัฒนาทักษะการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตพยาบาลประกอบไปด้วย 4 กิจกรรม ซึ่งภายหลังการจัดกิจกรรมพัฒนาทักษะการรู้สารสนเทศ ผลพบว่านิสิตพยาบาลมีทักษะการรู้สารสนเทศสูงขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01
