Guideline of Information Commons for Roi Et Rajabhat University Library

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the current conditions, need and guideline to organize Information Commons at Roi Et Rajabhat University Library. The sample of this research totaling 656 people consisted of 2 administrators, 3 librarians, 164 lectures, 484 students and 3 experts. The research instruments were questionnaire and qualitative method was conducted by in-depth interview with administrators Qualitative data was analyzed by using the content analysis. Quantity data was analyzed by using percentage, average, and standard deviation.

The results showed that the current condition of the Information Commons arrangement of the Roi Et Rajabhat University Library overall, students and lectures of Roi Et Rajabhat University had their opinions at a very appropriate level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the students' opinions on library staffs were the most appropriate, i.e. library staff had knowledge, abilities and skills in information technology. As for the lectures’ opinions, the library staff were most appropriate are assistance, problems solving with speed and the need to organize learning areas of the Roi Et Rajabhat University Library. Overall, students and lectures had a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the students' needs were at high level, namely, library had knowledge, abilities and skills in information technology and lectures need library staff to have reference service skills at high level.

Guidelines for organizing Information Commons of Roi Et Rajabhat University Library 1) Spacing, facilities and atmosphere should be divided into proportional Information Commons. Allocate the space (zoning) according to the guidelines for organizing the space of the library to support learning activities with different usage scenarios, organize self-learning spaces that focuses on providing an environment that is conducive to learning, quiet and relax. An informal Information Commons should be easily accessible and flexible design space that allows users to organize events according to their needs. 2) Information technology should be developed information system that respond to the needs of users, i.e. should procure or develop information technology that can be applied to the public relations work and set up a wireless internet with a high-speed stability and security network cover all areas of Information Commons that to be able to support users’ demand. 3) Information service should be organize One Stop Service Center as a information services by providing more digital resources. Users can access the service through the Internet. All Roi Et Rajabhat University copyrights should be digitized. 4) Library staff should be trained particularly research assistance services and reference services

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันของการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด ความต้องการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด และแนวทางการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด กลุ่มตัวอย่างการวิจัยครั้งนี้ ผู้บริหาร จำนวน 2 คน บรรณารักษ์ จำนวน 3 คน อาจารย์ จำนวน 164 คน นักศึกษา จำนวน 484 คน และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ จำนวน 3 คน รวมทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 656 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสัมภาษณ์และแบบสอบถาม ข้อมูลที่ได้ในเชิงคุณภาพ ผู้วิจัยได้นำมาวิเคราะห์ ตีความ สรุปความ โดยนำเสนอในรูปของตารางและพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ ส่วนข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ ใช้วิธีการวิเคราะห์ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยและส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า สภาพปัจจุบันของการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด โดยภาพรวมนักศึกษาและอาจารย์มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ดมีความคิดเห็นอยู่ในระดับเหมาะสมมาก เมื่อพิจารณารายด้าน พบว่า นักศึกษามีความคิดเห็นด้านบุคลากรมีความเหมาะสมมากที่สุด คือ บุคลากรมีความรู้ความสามารถและทักษะทางเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ส่วนอาจารย์มีความคิดเห็นด้านบุคลากรมีความเหมาะสมมากที่สุด คือ บุคลากรช่วยเหลือ แก้ไขปัญหาในการให้บริการด้วยความรวดเร็ว และความต้องการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด โดยภาพรวมนักศึกษาและอาจารย์มีความต้องการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ดอยู่ในระดับต้องการมาก เมื่อพิจารณารายด้าน พบว่า นักศึกษามีความต้องการด้านบุคลากรอยู่ในระดับต้องการมาก คือ บุคลากรมีความรู้ความสามารถและทักษะทางเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ และอาจารย์มีความต้องการด้านบุคลากรมากที่สุดคือ บุคลากรมีความรู้ความสามารถในการตอบคำถามและการช่วยค้นคว้า

แนวทางการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด 1) ด้านการจัดสถานที่ สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก บรรยากาศ ควรจัดแบ่งพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ที่เป็นสัดส่วน จัดแบ่งพื้นที่ (Zoning) ตามแนวทางการจัดพื้นที่ของห้องสมุด เพื่อรองรับกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่มีสถานการณ์การใช้งานที่แตกต่างกันจัดให้มีการจัดพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเอง ที่เน้นการจัดสภาพแวดล้อมที่เอื้ออำนวยต่อการเรียนรู้ มีบรรยากาศที่เงียบสงบ สำหรับผ่อนคลาย พื้นที่สำหรับการศึกษาอย่างไม่เป็นทางการ สามารถเข้าถึงได้ง่าย ซึ่งพื้นที่นั้นเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีการออกแบบอย่างยืดหยุ่นเพื่อให้ผู้ใช้สามารถจัดกิจกรรมได้ตามความต้องการ 2) ด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ควรพัฒนาระบบสารสนเทศที่ตอบสนองต่อความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการ ได้แก่ ควรจัดหาหรือพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศที่สามารถประยุกต์ใช้กับงานประชาสัมพันธ์ของศูนย์วิทยบริการ และควรกำหนดจุดบริการอินเทอร์เน็ตไร้สาย เครือข่ายไร้สายที่มีความเร็วสูงมีความเสถียรและความปลอดภัย เพื่อให้ครอบคลุมทุกพื้นที่ในการให้บริการสามารถรองรับปริมาณการเข้าถึงอินเทอร์เน็ตของผู้ใช้บริการจำนวนมาก 3) ด้านบริการสารสนเทศ ควรมีการพัฒนารูปแบบการให้บริการสารสนเทศ โดยจัดให้มีศูนย์บริการแบบเบ็ดเสร็จ (One Stop Service Center) ควรจัดหาทรัพยากรสารสนเทศที่เป็นสื่อดิจิทัลมากขึ้น และให้มีสัดส่วนมากกว่าสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ ผู้ใช้บริการสามารถเข้าใช้บริการผ่านเครือข่ายอินเทอร์เน็ต ควรผลิตสื่อสารสนเทศดิจิทัลที่เป็นผลงานลิขสิทธิ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด 4) ด้านบุคลากร ควรจัดให้บุคลากรเพิ่มทักษะและมีความรู้ความสามารถ ความเชี่ยวชาญ ด้านการให้บริการงานวิจัย การให้บริการเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ เพื่อให้บริการและตอบคำถามของผู้ใช้บริการอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
