Abstract

The dissertation is concerned with the study of Chinese folk music. Yongning River Boatman Work Songs in Luzhou City, Sichuan, China, have the following objectives: 1) To investigate the function of Yongning River Boatman Work Songs in Luzhou City, Sichuan, China. 2) To analyze the musical characteristics of Yongning River Boatman Work Wongs in Luzhou City, Sichuan, China. 3) To promote the Yongning River Boatman Work Songs. The researcher researched, analyzed, and documented the information gathered from the literature review and fieldwork using theoretical approaches from ethnomusicology and musicology.
