The dynamics of community funeral culture in Kosum Phisai Municipality Kosum PhisaiDistrict Maha Sarakham Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were to study the cultural dynamics of funeral arrangements in Kosumphisai sup-district municipality and to study the process of becoming a funeral business in Kosumphisai sup-district municipality. It is a qualitative research. The research tools consisted of an interview form, an observation form, a recording group discussion form. The target group of the research consisted of 20 people who were selected by purposive sampling. The data gathered from research tools and related documents were analyzed in terms of content.

The results showed that People prefer to hold funerals at home and cremate the bodies in the sediments of temples in residential areas. Funerals in the past emphasized the relationship of people in the community. in helping each other When a crematorium was built using charcoal and a burial pavilion make people gradually changed to a funeral tradition at the temple as for the current funeral arrangements of the community in Kosumphisai Sub-district Municipality The popularity of organizing more funeral traditions at temples Because every temple in the municipality has built a crematorium and a convenient burial pavilion. The crematorium has been improved to be electric. Reduce smoke, make the community pollution-free. and the meaning and value of time in relation to rituals and in terms of objects to express the social status that led to capitalist culture and funeral business. Become a product in the form of a commercial death, including flower arrangements in front of the corpse. Catering food, coffin making that can meet the various needs of the host to be comfortable.

งานวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาพลวัตทางวัฒนธรรมการจัดงานศพของชุมชนเขตเทศบาลตำบลโกสุมพิสัยและเพื่อศึกษากระบวนการกลายเป็นธุรกิจการจัดงานศพในชุมชนเขตเทศบาลตำบลโกสุมพิสัย เป็นการวิจัยแบบเชิงคุณภาพมีเครื่องมือในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย แบบสัมภาษณ์ แบบสังเกต แบบบันทึกการสนทนากลุ่ม โดยมีกลุ่มเป้าหมายในการวิจัย จำนวน 20 คน ที่มาจากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง แล้วนำข้อมูลที่รวบรวมได้จากเครื่องมือการวิจัยและเอกสารต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องมาวิเคราะห์ในเชิงเนื้อหา

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า พลวัตการจัดงานศพในอดีตของชุมชนในเขตเทศบาลตำบลโกสุมพิสัย ผู้คนนิยมจัดงานศพที่บ้านและนำศพไปเผายังเชิงตะกอนตามวัดที่อยู่ในเขตอาศัย งานศพในอดีตเน้นความสัมพันธ์ของคนในชุมชน ในการช่วยเหลือซึ่งกันและกัน เมื่อมีการสร้างเมรุเผาศพโดยใช้ถ่านและสร้างศาลาพักศพ ทำให้ผู้คนค่อย ๆ เปลี่ยนมาเป็นการจัดประเพณีงานศพที่วัด ส่วนการจัดงานศพในปัจจุบันของชุมชนในเขตเทศบาลตำบลโกสุมพิสัย ความนิยมจัดประเพณีงานศพที่วัดมากขึ้น เพราะทุกวัดในเขตเทศบาลได้มีการสร้างเมรุและศาลาพักศพที่สะดวกสบาย มีการปรับปรุงเมรุเป็นแบบไฟฟ้า ลดควันทำให้ชุมชนปลอดมลพิษ และการให้ความหมายและคุณค่าในเรื่องของเวลาที่สัมพันธ์กับพิธีกรรม และในเรื่องของวัตถุเพื่อแสดงออกถึงสถานะภาพทางสังคมอันนำมาสู่วัฒนธรรมทุนนิยมและธุรกิจการจัดงานศพ กลายเป็นสินค้าในลักษณะมรณาพาณิชย์ ได้แก่ การจัดดอกไม้หน้าศพ การจัดเลี้ยงอาหาร การทำโลงศพ ที่สามารถตอบสนองความต้องการที่หลากหลายของเจ้าภาพให้ได้รับความสะดวกสบาย รวดเร็วและหรูหรา
