The Development of Writing Skill in Uncommon Final Consonant Words using Games with Letter Blending Exercises for Grade 3 Students

Abstract

This pre-experimental research aims were (1) to develop learning activities using games with letter blending exercises to meet the efficiency criterion 80/80. (2) To compare grade 3 students’ writing ability in uncommon final consonant words before and after learning through games with letter blending exercises. (3) To study the effectiveness index of the grade 3 students’ writing ability in uncommon final consonant words using games with letter blending exercises. Target group consisted of 10 grade-3 students studying in 2nd semester of the 2023 academic year at Nongkrungtaobuengrueyai, Khonkaen province, determined by purposive sampling. Duration of learning construction took 12 hours in 12 days: 1 hour each. Research instruments were (1) lesson plans: unit how to spell the uncommon final consonant words for grade 3 students through games with letter blending exercises. (2) The letter blending exercises: 5 sets of an uncommon final consonant sound in N protocol, 15 sets of D protocols and 4 of B protocol. (3) Test to write the uncommon final consonant words for grade 3 students. Analytical statics were percentage, mean (x̅), standard deviation (S.D.), and Wilcoxon Singed Rank Test.

Results were revealed as follows:

1. The efficiency of the learning activities using games with letter blending exercises in spell the uncommon final consonant words of N, D and B protocols for grade 3 students was 82.83/89.33.

2. Ability to write and spell words that do not match the standard spelling. After studying higher than before studying Statistically significant at the .05 level.

3. The index of effectiveness in writing and spelling words that do not match the spelling standard. of 3rd grade students by organizing educational game activities together with letter blending exercises Progress in learning is 80.14%.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงทดลองเบื้องต้น (Pre-Experimental Research) โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) พัฒนาการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เกมการศึกษาร่วมกับแบบฝึกประสมอักษร ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80 (2) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกดของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ที่เรียนด้วยกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เกมการศึกษาร่วมกับแบบฝึกประสมอักษร ระหว่างก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน (3) ศึกษาดัชนีประสิทธิผลความสามารถในการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกดของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โดยการจัดกิจกรรมเกมการศึกษาร่วมกับแบบฝึกประสมอักษร กลุ่มเป้าหมายคือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2566 โรงเรียนบ้านหนองเต่าบึงเรือใหญ่ จังหวัดขอนแก่น จำนวน 10 คน ได้มาโดยการเลือกแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) ใช้เวลาจัดการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 12 วัน วันละ 1 ชั่วโมง รวมเป็น 12 ชั่วโมง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย (1) แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ เรื่องการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกด ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โดยการจัดกิจกรรมเกมการศึกษาร่วมกับแบบฝึกประสมอักษร (2) แบบฝึกประสมอักษร เรื่องการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกดแม่กน จำนวน 5 ชุด แม่กด 15 ชุด และแม่กบ 4 ชุด (3) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกด ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย (x̅) ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) ค่าทดสอบ Wilcoxon Singed Rank Test

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1. กิจกรรมการจัดการเรียนรู้เกมการศึกษาร่วมกับแบบฝึกประสมอักษร เรื่อง การเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกดแม่กน แม่กด และแม่กบ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 มีประสิทธิภาพเท่ากับ 82.83/89.33 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดไว้ 80/80

2. ความสามารถด้านการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกด หลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

3. ค่าดัชนีประสิทธิผลความสามารถในการเขียนสะกดคำที่ไม่ตรงมาตราตัวสะกด ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โดยการจัดกิจกรรมเกมการศึกษาร่วมกับแบบฝึกประสมอักษร มีความก้าวหน้าในการเรียนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 80.14
