Enhancing Analytical Thinking Abilities in Grade 6 Social Studies: A Study on the Efficacy of 5W1H Techniques Combined with Mind Maps

Abstract

This research investigates the efficacy of learning activities aimed at enhancing analytical thinking abilities among Grade 6 students in the context of social studies. The study aimed to achieve four primary objectives: Firstly, to ascertain the effectiveness of learning activities utilizing 5W1H techniques combined with mind maps, targeting a minimum criteria of 75/75 percent proficiency among Grade 6 students. Secondly, to assess the effectiveness index of Grade 6 students' analytical thinking abilities resulting from the implementation of these learning activities. Thirdly, to compare the analytical thinking abilities of Grade 6 students before and after participating in the learning activities. Lastly, to evaluate the satisfaction levels of Grade 6 students regarding these analytical thinking-focused learning activities. The research was conducted with a sample group comprising 31 Grade 6 students from Phubodin Kindergarten School, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, during the second semester of the academic year 2023, employing a cluster random sampling method. The research tools included learning activity plans totaling 12 hours (The overall appropriateness mean was 4.47), a 30-item analytical thinking ability test (The discriminatory power value is between 0.30-0.52, the difficulty value is between 0.67-0.80, the confidence value is 0.89.), and a satisfaction questionnaire consisting of 10 items (The discriminatory power value is between 0.64-0.95. The confidence value is 0.92.). Statistical analysis techniques such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test were utilized for data analysis.

The findings of the study reveal the following: Firstly, the developed learning activities demonstrated an efficiency of 72.85/80.75, surpassing the specified criteria. Secondly, the index of effectiveness for organizing learning activities targeting analytical thinking abilities was calculated at 70.36 percent. Thirdly, Grade 6 students exhibited statistically significant improvements in analytical thinking abilities after engaging in the learning activities, with scores higher post-study compared to pre-study levels, significant at the .05 level. Lastly, overall satisfaction among Grade 6 students regarding the learning activities was reported at the highest level.

การวิจัยนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อ 1) เพื่อหาประสิทธิภาพของกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ รายวิชาสังคมศึกษา โดยใช้เทคนิค 5W1H ร่วมกับแผนผังความคิด สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ตามเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75/75 2) เพื่อศึกษาดัชนีประสิทธิผลของการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่ 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ ระหว่างก่อนและหลังได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้ และ 4) เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียน ที่มีต่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6/1 จำนวน 31 คน ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2566 โรงเรียนอนุบาลภูบดินทร์ จังหวัดหนองบัวลำภู ได้มาโดยการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม (Cluster Random Sampling) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 12 แผน 12 ชั่วโมง มีค่าเฉลี่ยความเหมาะสมโดยรวม เท่ากับ 4.47 2) แบบวัดความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ จำนวน 30 ข้อ มีค่าอำนาจจำแนกอยู่ระหว่าง 0.30-0.52 ค่าความยากอยู่ระหว่าง 0.67-0.80 ค่าความเชื่อมั่น เท่ากับ 0.89 และ 3) แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจ จำนวน 10 ข้อ มีค่าอำนาจจำแนกอยู่ระหว่าง 0.64-0.95 ค่าความเชื่อมั่น เท่ากับ 0.92 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่า t-test

ผลการวิจัยปรากฏดังนี้

1. ผลการพัฒนากิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ รายวิชาสังคมศึกษา โดยใช้เทคนิค 5W1H ร่วมกับแผนผังความคิด สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 มีประสิทธิภาพเท่ากับ 83.22/80.75 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ที่กำหนด

2. ดัชนีประสิทธิผลของการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ รายวิชาสังคมศึกษา โดยใช้เทคนิค 5W1H ร่วมกับแผนผังความคิด สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 มีค่าเท่ากับ 0.7036 หรือคิดเป็นร้อยละ 70.36

3. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ รายวิชาสังคมศึกษา โดยใช้เทคนิค 5W1H ร่วมกับแผนผังความคิด มีคะแนนความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์หลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

4. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ ที่ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ รายวิชาสังคมศึกษา โดยใช้เทคนิค 5W1H ร่วมกับแผนผังความคิด มีความพึงพอใจโดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด
