| Abstract: | The aims of this study were to 1) explore the perceptual factors and interactive 360-degree display components that influence visitors‘ experience at the Luoyang Museum; 2) develop interactive 360-degree displays for enhancing visitors’ experience; 3) compare the differences in visitors‘ perceptions before and after using interactive 360-degree media; and 4) assess visitors’ satisfaction with the interactive 360-degree displays. The sample for this study consisted of 400 visitors who provided information prior to developing the interactive 360-degree display and an additional 400 visitors who used the media after completing the interactive display. The sample size was determined through the Yamane formula. Data were collected through an online tool using several methods: 1) a survey of perceived factors and 360-degree interactive components; 2) an assessment of the quality of the 360-degree interactive display; 3) an assessment of perceptions before and after the interaction; and 4) an evaluation of satisfaction with the 360-degree interactive display. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and paired sample t-test.
The results of the study indicate that 1) key perceived factors that enhance visitor experience include staff service quality, museum accessibility, museum atmosphere, organisation of supporting activities, provision of additional information, and careful observation. Key components of interactive 360-degree displays include image clarity and resolution, system stability and loading speed, data collection and real-time feedback, integration of educational content, and convenient navigational design; 2) the development process of interactive 360-degree displays included three appropriate phases, and the developed interactive media demonstrated high quality; and 3) visitor perceptions were significantly higher after using interactive 360-degree media than before. The difference was statistically significant at the 0.05 level (t-test results); and 4) visitors showed a high level of satisfaction with the interactive 360-degree display in the Luoyang Museum. The results of the study show that the implementation of interactive technology in the museum significantly enhances the visitors' experience and educational effect. - |
