Conditions and expectations regarding democracy promotion of students at Ban Mak Khaeng School Under the Office of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were : 1) To study the democratic characteristics, Ban Mak Khaeng School under the office of Udonthani Primary Educational Service Area 1 2) To study the conditions and expectations of students' democracy promotion of Ban Mak Khaeng School under the office of Udonthani Primary Educational Service Area 1 3) To study suggestions about ways to promote democracy among students of Ban Mak Khaeng School under the office of Udonthani Primary Educational Service Area 1. The research was mixed method research. The sample subjects of the study were 305 students at Ban Mak Khaeng School in 2023.The research instruments were 5-point rating scale questionnaires, semi-structured interview format, and group discussion format. 8 key informants were selected by purposive sampling. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation (SD).

The research findings were as follow: 1. Overall the democratic characteristics, Ban Mak Khaeng School under the office of Udonthani Primary Educational Service Area 1 were at a high level. When considering each aspect, it is at a high level. Arranged from highest to lowest average, they are brotherhood, participation, majority, equality, and freedom aspects repectively. 2. The overall actual condition of students' democracy promotion of Ban Mak Khaeng School under the office of Udonthani Primary Educational Service Area 1 was at a moderate level. The overall expectations of students' democracy promotion of Ban Mak Khaeng School under the office of Udonthani Primary Educational Service Area 1 were at a high level.

3. All 5 aspects of democracy promotion had been discussed by the researcher and key informants through in-depth interviews and a group discussion. The suggestions from key informants comprised all 5 aspects. But some aspects were essentially important. For example, students should have freedom of expression without violating the freedom of others and students should live together with fraternity, not seniority.

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาคุณลักษณะความเป็นประชาธิปไตยของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานีเขต 1 2) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพและความคาดหวังการส่งเสริมประชาธิปไตยของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานีเขต 1 3) เพื่อศึกษาข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการส่งเสริมประชาธิปไตยของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง สังกัดสำนักงานเขตการศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานีเขต 1 เป็น การวิจัยแบบระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสานวิธี กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นและมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง อ.เมือง จ.อุดรธานี ประจำปีการศึกษา 2566 จำนวน 305 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสอบถาม แบบมาตราส่วนประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ และแบบสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง ผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักจำนวน 8 คนที่ได้มาโดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจง วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณด้วยการหาค่า ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพจากข้อมูลที่ได้จากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกและการสนทนากลุ่ม

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. คุณลักษณะความเป็นประชาธิปไตยของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานีเขต 1 โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณารายด้านอยู่ในระดับมากโดยเรียงจากค่าเฉลี่ยมากไปหาน้อย ได้แก่ 1. หลักภราดรภาพ 2. หลักการมีส่วนร่วม 3. หลักเสียงข้างมาก 4. หลักความเสมอภาค 5. หลักเสรีภาพ 2. สภาพของการส่งเสริมประชาธิปไตยของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานีเขต 1 โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง (Mean=3.51) ความคาดหวังของส่งเสริมประชาธิปไตยของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานีเขต 1 พบว่าโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (Mean=3.88) 3. ผู้วิจัยได้นำเอาการส่งเสริมประชาธิปไตยทั้ง 5 ด้านไปสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกและสนทนากลุ่มกับู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักได้ให้คำแนะนำไว้หลายประการที่คลอบคลุมทั้ง 5 ด้าน แต่มีบางด้านที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่ง เช่นในด้านเสรีภาพ นักเรียนควรมีเสรีภาพในการแสดงออกที่ไม่ละเมิดเสรีภาพของคนอื่น และในด้านหลักของภราดรภาพ นักเรียนควรอยู่ร่วมกันตามหลักภราดรภาพจริง ๆ ไม่ใช่ด้วยระบบอาวุโส
