Abstract: This dissertation research the organology and music characteristic of Zhuang Bronze Drums in Guangxi, China have three objectives: 1) to investigate the history and development of Zhuang Bronze Drum in Guangxi, China, 2) to analyze the Music characteristic and organology of Zhuang Bronze Drum in Guangxi, China, 3) to examine the protection and transmission process of Zhuang Bronze Drums in Guangxi, China. The research utilized interview from and observation from as research tool. The result of this research reveals the following: 1. There are relevance and differences in the history and development process of Zhuang bronze drums in Guangxi, China. 2. The organology and music characteristic of Zhuang Bronze Drum in Guangxi, China reflect the culture of rice cultivation, the concept of male and female, and totem culture. 3. The protection and transmission process of Zhuang Bronze Drums in Guangxi, China has gradually revived in rural and cities areas and giving the Zhuang bronze drum culture in Guangxi more plasticity.
