"Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua" the Lantern Opera in Nanchong City Sichuan Province, China

Abstract

The dissertation focus on the"Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua " the Lantern Opera in Nanchong City Sichuan Province, China. The research objectives were：1）To investigate the development of the North Sichuan Lantern Opera "Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua ". 2) To analyze the characteristics of music of the North Sichuan Lantern Opera "Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua ". 3) To investigate the transmission and protection of the North Sichuan Lantern Opera "Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua ". Researcher use Qualitative research method on fieldwork and interviews. 3 key informants were selected. The study results are as follows:

Firstly, investigated the development of lantern opera in northern Sichuan can be divided into three periods：Early development (1368-1950)、The boom period (1950-1980)、Later Development of Northern Sichuan Lantern Opera (1980-2023); analyzed the development of the North Sichuan Lantern Opera "Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua ".

Secondly, through the analyzed and research of the musical characteristics of the northern Sichuan lantern"Zheng Banqiao Mai hua", the comedy characteristics of script, structural characteristics of Qu pai, characteristics of tonal and melody , singing characteristics ,the stage performance of "Zheng Banqiao Mai hua"have a strong comedy on the basis of retaining the musical characteristics of the traditional northern Sichuan lantern opera.

Third, investigated the transmission and protection of the North Sichuan Lantern Opera "Zheng Banqiao Mai Hua ", and according to the investigation and research results are given specific suggestions.
