A role of Tourism planning, safety, and service standards in shaping the efficacy of tourism management within Bueng Kan Province.

Abstract

Research on the subject "The Roles of Tourism Planning, Safety Measures, and Service Standards Influencing the Effectiveness of Tourism Management in Bueng Kan Province" aimed to (1) analyze the factors influencing the enhancement of tourism management effectiveness, focusing on tourism planning, safety measures, and service standards; and (2) provide policy recommendations for improving tourism management in Bueng Kan Province. A quantitative approach was employed, surveying 402 respondents, comprising 55% males and 45% females, with a majority aged below 25 years (32.1%) and primarily students (29.4%). Data analysis is a mixed-methods strategy that includes both qualitative research (in-depth interviews and focus group discussions) and quantitative research. Multiple regression analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and route analysis, which includes Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), are used in quantitative research to investigate direct, indirect, and total influences among variables. The research revealed that tourism planning, safety measures, and service standards significantly influenced tourism management effectiveness. The multiple regression analysis indicated that all three factors were significant predictors of tourism management effectiveness (R² = 0.65, p < 0.01). The CFA confirmed the validity of the measurement model, with all factor loadings above 0.70 and acceptable fit indices (CFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.05). Path analysis showed that tourism planning had a direct effect on tourism management effectiveness (β = 0.32, p < 0.01), while safety measures (β = 0.25, p < 0.01) and service standards (β = 0.28, p < 0.01) exerted both direct and indirect effects. Specifically, safety measures, such as clear signage (xˉ= 4.27) and emergency preparedness (xˉ= 4.15), had a direct positive impact on tourists’ perceptions of safety. Service standards, including supply chain management (xˉ = 4.15) and collaboration (xˉ= 4.09), indirectly enhanced tourism effectiveness through improved visitor experiences.

The study concludes that integrating comprehensive tourism planning with stringent safety measures and high-quality service standards can significantly enhance tourism management in Bueng Kan Province. Policy recommendations include establishing a centralized tourism coordination body, implementing advanced risk management systems, leveraging digital marketing strategies, and promoting community involvement. Future research should focus on sustainable tourism development strategies to further improve these outcomes.
