| Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to discuss the contemporary changes, musical characteristics, inheritance and protection strategies of the music of Gezi opera in southern Fujian region of China. Through a comprehensive analysis of historical documents and existing research, this paper first examines the development of Gezi Opera from tradition to modern times, with special attention to its evolution and innovation in different historical periods. Secondly, this paper analyzes the unique characteristics of the music of Gezi Opera in detail, including melody structure, musical form, tone characteristics, rhythm pattern, lyrics content and singing skills. It is found that Gezi opera not only has rich expression in music, but also shows unique cultural value in performance form and social function. Finally, this paper puts forward specific suggestions for the inheritance and protection of the music of Gezi Opera, emphasizing that the government, schools, communities and academia should work together to ensure the continuation and development of this valuable cultural heritage through various means such as policy support, education promotion and digital preservation. The research results of this paper provide a new perspective for understanding and appreciating Gezi Opera, and provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for its future inheritance and protection. - |
