Abstract: This title "Trendy toy design incorporating the traditional cultural identity of Liangping New Year's Paintings in the context of Chinese pop culture” explores the integration of Liangping woodblock New Year paintings, a traditional Chinese art form, with trendy toys. As trendy toys evolve from consumer products into cultural symbols, they reflect modern aesthetics and cultural identity. By incorporating the unique artistic value of Liangping woodblock New Year paintings into trendy toys, and combining innovative design and functional optimization with the interactivity and market demands of trendy toys, this fusion builds a bridge between traditional culture and modern design, enhancing cultural identity and market appeal. This research will focus on the following three research objectives:1.To study the development and current status of trendy toys within the context of Chinese popular culture.2.To analyze the cultural identity of Liangping New Year's Paintings and its otential application in trendy toy design.3. To design incorporates trendy toys that are culturally identified withLiangping New Year's Paintings, in keeping with contemporary Chinese pop culture. The research adopts an applied research method that combines literature review, field visits, and design practice. Through interviews with inheritors of Liangping woodblock New Year's paintings, discussions with professionals in the trendy toy industry, and market surveys on trendy toys, original data were collected. This data enabled an in-depth analysis of the cultural identity and artistic characteristics of Liangping woodblock New Year's paintings, extracting design methods suitable for integration with trendy toy market products.  The research results indicate:1. The rise of China's trendy toy market has been driven by the “national trend” and growing cultural confidence, thanks to the booming development of Chinese pop culture. Consumer demand for toys is increasingly focused on cultural depth and unique design, not only the pursuit of entertainment value, but also the cultural connotations carried by the product.2. By analyzing the cultural connotation and artistic characteristics of Liangping New Year paintings, it is found that its themes such as door gods and auspicious symbols highlight the strong local traditions, while the bright colors and unique patterns contain rich design inspirations. Through modernized reinterpretation, the cultural depth and visual innovation can be organically integrated to better meet the needs of consumers.3.By combining traditional symbols, modern materials and interactive functions, and through design practice, expert evaluation and market feedback, this study successfully realizes the expression of contemporary culture. Consumers' expectations are fully satisfied in terms of functionality, entertainment and cultural value. Innovative elements such as the tilting doll shape, interactive booster and environmentally friendly materials embody the perfect fusion of Liangping New Year's Paintings and modern trendy toys In conclusion the pathways for integrating cultural symbols with contemporary design, validates the vitality of traditional culture in the designer toy market, and offers practical recommendations for future design and market promotion.
