| Abstract: | "Images of Han Dynasty Artifacts, Haihun Marquis state Nanchang, China: Semiotics and Symbolic narrative In the process of revitalization China's traditional culture and modernity," is foundational research. Guided by Roland Barthes' theory of cultural semiotics, it employs qualitative research and interdisciplinary methods. The study explores the formation of cultural symbols in the artifact images of the Haihun Marquis State from multiple dimensions, including the history of pre-Qin Chinese image studies, Confucian moral thought in the Western Han Dynasty, traditional Chinese aesthetics, sociology, and communication studies. Using structured or semi-structured qualitative data analysis and description, the research takes a cross-disciplinary approach, both vertically and horizontally.
The research findings are as follows:
1.The formation of artifact images from the Haihun Marquis State originates from the ancient human understanding of the relationship between the universe and nature. These image-based cultural symbols are an important part of the historical process. Images transcend texts and become expressions of socially shared spiritual values and ideas. These cultural symbols not only represent material cultural heritage but also embody the intangible cultural heritage of human spiritual culture.
2.The Confucian ethical cultural symbol system of the Han dynasty involves individual moral cultivation, national governance, and social order. Image symbols materialize Confucian ethical thoughts, forming a cultural symbol narrative system for social rites and laws. This became the spiritual foundation of the ethical order in the Han dynasty and later generations, influencing the cultural symbol narrative of social images throughout history.
3.The artifact images unearthed from the Haihun Marquis State reflect the guiding role of Confucian ethical culture in traditional aesthetic culture. These images have evolved from diachronic to synchronic cultural symbols, building aesthetic cultural symbols with Confucian ethical concepts, which are distinctively Chinese.
4.The artifact images from the Western Han Haihun Marquis State reflect Confucian ethical cultural symbols. These symbols have played a foundational role in the evolution and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture, contributing to the rejuvenation of Chinese culture. In modern society, in-depth research and application of traditional cultural symbols not only hold artistic value but also carry the function of cultural transmission, spreading across various interdisciplinary fields.
This study fills the gap in Han Dynasty cultural research concerning the study of ethical cultural semiotics. It reveals the visual expression of Confucian thought, the system of rites and music, and social values during the Han Dynasty, providing new perspectives for the research on ancient Chinese aesthetics and art history. - |
