This research primarily aimed to achieve two objectives: (1) to analyze the differences in the effect sizes of factors influencing happiness at work based on three dimensions of research characteristics: publication, content, and methodology; and (2) to construct and validate a causal relationship model of factors affecting happiness at work using Meta-Analytic Structural Equation Modeling (MASEM). The sample for this study consisted of 147 research papers related to factors influencing happiness at work, published between 2015 and 2023. The research instruments included a research characteristic recording form and a research quality assessment form. For data analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was employed to determine differences in effect sizes across research characteristics, and MASEM was utilized to construct and validate the causal relationship model The findings indicate: 1. Analysis of variance of the bias-corrected effect sizes revealed that research characteristics significantly influenced effect sizes. Specifically, research field (political science had a greater influence than psychology), publication type (journal articles had a greater influence than doctoral dissertations), research objective (studies focused on relationships and model fit had the highest influence), sampling method (multistage sampling had a greater influence than simple random sampling), sample size (201–400 participants had a greater influence than 1–200 participants), number of instruments used (2 instruments had the highest influence), and type of data analysis (descriptive statistics and t-test/ANOVA had a greater influence than correlation and regression). 2. The causal relationship model of factors influencing happiness at work demonstrated good fit with the pooled correlation matrix, as indicated by the fit indices (2 = 1.240, df = 1, p-value =0.2654, CFI = 0.998, TLI = 0.979, RMSEA = 0.040, SRMR = 0.016). This model explained 24.7% of the variance in happiness at work. Causal influence analysis revealed that quality of work life had a direct influence on happiness at work. Conversely, work environment and job characteristics exerted both direct and indirect influences through quality of work life and organizational culture on happiness at work. Additionally, workplace relationships and organizational culture had indirect influences on happiness at work via quality of work life, all statistically significant. This study provides valuable insights into the factors influencing happiness at work across diverse research contexts.en
