The Enhancement of Reading Comprehension and Writing Communication abilities through Phenomenon-Based Learning integrated with the 5W1H Approach for Prathomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract

This research aims to 1) check how well the learning management plan that uses phenomenon-based learning with the 5W1H technique works for Prathomsuksa 5 students to meet the 80/80 standard, 2) compare reading comprehension skills using this method against a 75% benchmark, and 3) assess writing communication skills using the same approach against the 75% standard. The target demographic comprises 16 Prathomsuksa 5 students. The instruments employed for data gathering comprise six learning management plans, reading comprehension assessments, and writing communication proficiency evaluations. The statistical methods employed for data analysis are frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the nonparametric test known as the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.

The research findings indicate that

1. The learning management plan employing phenomenon-based learning alongside the 5W1H approach for enhancing reading comprehension and writing communication in Prathomsuksa 5 students demonstrates an effectiveness of 86.08/86.67, surpassing the established criterion of 80/80.

2. Prathomsuksa 5 students engaged in learning activities aligned with the learning management plan, utilizing phenomenon-based learning in conjunction with the 5W1H technique for reading comprehension and writing communication, and achieved reading comprehension scores that significantly exceeded the 75% threshold at the .05 level.

3. Prathomsuksa 5 student engaged in learning activities aligned with the learning management plan, utilizing phenomenon-based learning in conjunction with the 5W1H technique for reading comprehension and writing communication, achieved scores exceeding the 75% threshold in writing communication skills at the .05 level of statistical significance.

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อ 1) ประสิทธิภาพของแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปรากฏการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิค 5W1H สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80 2) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านการอ่านจับใจความ โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปรากฏการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิค 5W1H กับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75 และ 3) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านการเขียนสื่อสาร โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปรากฏการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิค 5W1H กับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75 กลุ่มเป้าหมาย ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 จำนวน 16 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 6 แผนแบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถด้านการอ่านจับใจความ และแบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถด้านการเขียนสื่อสาร สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานและสถิติทดสอบสอบสมมติฐาน Nonparametric Test แบบ The Wilcoxon signed Rank test

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1. แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้เรียนรู้ โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปรากฏการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิค 5W1H เรื่อง การอ่านจับใจความและการเขียนสื่อสาร สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 มีประสิทธิภาพเท่ากับ 86.08/86.67 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดไว้ คือ 80/80

2. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้เรียนรู้ โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปรากฏการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิค 5W1H เรื่อง การอ่านจับใจความและการเขียนสื่อสาร มีคะแนนความสามารถด้านการอ่านจับใจความ สูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
