Abstract: The rapid increase in Electric Vehicles (EVs) has led to a significant increase in demand for high-performance fast-charging infrastructure. This highlights the necessity for developing high-efficiency rectifiers capable of maintaining Power Quality (PQ) compliance with international standards. The main objective of this study is to design and develop Three-Phase, Two-Level, Unidirectional Rectifiers (3P-2L-URs) in Wye, Delta, and Bridge topologies for application in 800 VDC EV fast-charging systems. The proposed approach integrates Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) with a decoupled controller based on voltage-oriented control to enhance the input PQ and assess the output performance. The command signals for the three-phase-leg power switches of each rectifier topology are derived mathematically from a five-segment switching sequence analysis, resulting in reduced switching losses. The simulation results from MATLAB/Simulink show that all three proposed rectifier topologies meet the requirements of IEEE 519 and IEC 61000-3. They all have sinusoidal input currents with Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) below 5% and Power Factors (PF) above 99.90%. The Three-Phase, Two-Level, Wye-type, Unidirectional Rectifier (3P-2L-Wye-UR) is the best of the topologies tested. It has lower voltage and current ripples, which means it works better. Therefore, it can be considered a highly efficient and reliable solution for use in high-power EV fast-charging applications.
