The Development of Buddhism Contemporary Arts

Abstract

The research entitled the Development of Buddhism Contemporary Arts is a qualitative research and aims to 1) development studies on Buddhism Contemporary Arts through the representative artists of the Northeast region which are Chokchai Takbhodi and Somyod Traiseni 2) to analytical studies on concepts techniques on creation of Buddhism Contemporary Arts through 2 artists; Chokchai Takbhodi and Somyod Traiseni and 3) to interrelationship studies of Buddhism Contemporary Arts art works of Chokchai Takbhodi and Somyod Traiseni on the sociocultural context of the Northeast region. The study has been made by the study of field studies and concepts from academic and research document as well as data collections were made by observation and interview. Research presentation is presented by descriptive analysis.

The research outcomes found that the influence of contemporary art from the central region has played the important role in the cultural context of the Northeast region which allows artist as cases of this study create their own art works. As such, artists, Chokchai Takbhodi and Somyod Traiseni employed the Buddhism and localism concepts to create contemporary art works. There are 4 Buddhism concepts which are 1. Concept if Buddha history 2. Concept of Buddhist doctrine 3. Concept of Buddhist philosophy and 4. Concept of Buddhist way of life. However, the 2 artists have the same methodology of creating art works. They are employing the concept of Buddhism to create contemporary art works but having different forms, techniques, methodologies and presentation of aesthetics through Buddhism Contemporary Art.

งานวิจัยเรื่องพัฒนาการพุทธจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัย เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาเชิงพัฒนาการพุทธจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยผ่านศิลปินตัวแทนของภาคอีสานสองท่าน ได้แก่ โชคชัย ตักโพธิ์ และสมยศ ไตรเสนีย์ 2) เพื่อศึกษาเชิงวิเคราะห์แนวคิด เทคนิควิธีการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานพุทธจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยผ่านศิลปิน โชคชัย ตักโพธิ์ และสมยศ ไตรเสนีย์ และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาเชิงมิติสัมพันธ์ของผลงานพุทธจิตกรรมร่วมสมัยของโชคชัย ตักโพธิ์ และสมยศ ไตรเสนีย์ ที่มีต่อบริบททางสังคมวัฒนธรรมอีสาน การศึกษาข้อมูลศึกษาโดยอาศัยข้อมูลเชิงปรากฏการณ์จากภาคสนามและแนวคิดจากเอกสารวิชาการและวิจัยตลอดจนการรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยการสำรวจและสัมภาษณ์ นำเสนอผลวิจัยด้วยการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยวิธีพรรณาวิเคราะห์

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า อิทธิพลของศิลปะร่วมสมัยจากภาคกลางได้เข้ามามีบทบาทในสังคมวัฒนธรรมภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือส่งผลให้ศิลปินภาคอีสานที่เป็นกรณีศึกษาของงานวิจัยนี้ได้แก่ โชคชัย ตักโพธิ์และสมยศ ไตรเสนีย์ได้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยโดยใช้หลักแนวคิดทางพุทธศาสนาและความเป็นท้องถิ่นผ่านอัมลักษณ์วัฒนธรรมอีสานในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานอันได้แก่ 1.แนวคิดเรื่องพุทธประวัติ 2.แนวคิดเรื่องหลักธรรมคำสอนเรื่องบาป บุณ คุณ โทษ 3. แนวคิดเรื่องพุทธปรัชญา 4. แนวคิดเรื่องวิถีชีวิตของชาวพุทธ อย่างไรก็ตามศิลปินทั้ง 2 ท่าน ได้ใช้แนวคิดในทางพุทธศาสนาเพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยเป็นหลักแต่มีความแตกต่างกันในมิติของรูปแบบ เทคนิค วิธีการและการนำเสนอสุนทรียภาพผ่านผลงานศิลปะพุทธจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัย
