Analysis of appropriate parameters for Schedule management using Genetic Algorithms and Tabu Search : A case study in Roi Et Rajabhat University

Abstract

This work consists in applying Meta-heuristic algorithms to solve the timetable problem of Roi–Et Rajabhat University. In order to find out the most relevant Meta-heuristic algorithm and parameter values,we conducted a comparative study of three algorithms : Genetic Algorithm (GA), Tabu Search Algorithm (TS) and Genetic Algorithm with Tabu Search algorithm (GATS). We analyzed their performance in terms of runtime efficiency and solution quality. The experiment results show that GATS has the best solution quality and runtime efficiency than the other algorithms for solving the timetable problem.

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบขั้นตอนวิธีเมต้าฮิวริสติกสำหรับปัญหาการจัดตารางสอนในมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏร้อยเอ็ด โดยการเปรียบเทียบขั้นตอนวิธีที่พัฒนาขึ้น จำนวน 3 วิธี ประกอบด้วย วิธีขั้นตอนเชิงพันธุกรรม (GA) วิธีการค้นหาแบบทาบู (TS) และวิธีการขั้นตอนเชิงพันธุกรรมร่วมกับการค้นหาแบบทาบู (GATS) มาทำการประมวลผลหาค่าคำตอบและประเมินประสิทธิภาพของระบบจัดตารางสอนอัตโนมัติ เพื่อหาค่าพารามิเตอร์ที่เหมาะสมของวิธีขั้นตอนเชิงพันธุกรรม และเวลาที่ใช้ในการประมวลผลผลการทดลองพบว่า วิธีการขั้นตอนเชิงพันธุกรรมร่วมกับการค้นหาแบบทาบู มีค่าพารามิเตอร์ที่เหมาะสมและใช้เวลาในการประมวลผลเป็นที่ยอมรับได้ มากกว่าวิธีขั้นตอนเชิงพันธุกรรมและวิธีการค้นหาแบบทาบู
