The Development of Learning Activities Using Problem-Based Learning to Promote Geography Skills and Learning Achievement of Prathomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to develop Problem-Based Learning activities on the topic of the Geography of Muang Prasat Hin, Tin Phukhao Fai for Prathomsuksa 5 Students to reach the efficiency level of 80/80 2) to compare the geography skills of Prathomsuksa 5 Students after learning with Problem-Based Learning with a percentage of 80. 3) to compare the geography learning achievement on the topic of the Geography of Muang Prasat Hin, Tin Phukhao Fai of Prathomsuksa 5 Students after learning with Problem-Based Learning with a percentage of 80 4) to investigate students’ satisfaction with the Problem-Based Learning activities. The participants consisted of 43 Prathomsuksa 5 Students at Anuban Buriram School, Muang Buriram District, Buriram Province. in the second semester of the academic year 2022. The research instruments were 1) seven two-hour Problem-Based Learning lesson plans on the topic of Muang Prasat Hin, Tin Phukhao Fai for Prathomsuksa 5 Students 2) eight sets of four geography skills assessments consisting of Observation, Interpretation of Geographic Data, Using Geographic Techniques and Equipment, and Using Technology 3) 30 four-choice learning assessments on the topic of Muang Prasat Hin, Tin Phukhao Fai for Prathomsuksa 5 Students 4) 15 questions of 5-level rating scale questionnaire on students' satisfaction with Problem-Based Learning consisting of three aspects. The data analysis used in this research were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and one-sample t-test.

The results of the research are as follows:

1. The results of developing Problem-Based Learning activities on the topic of Muang Prasat Hin, Tin Phukhao Fai for Prathomsuksa 5 Students reached the efficiency level of 83.32/85.13, which met the set criteria of 80/80.

2. The percentage of geography skills achievement of Prathomsuksa 5 Students who learned with Problem-Based Learning was statistically significantly higher than 80 percent at .05. 1) the average of Observation skill was 87.60 which was statistically significantly higher than 80 percent 2) the average of Interpretation of Geographic data skill was 84.88 which was higher than 80 percent 3) the average of Using Geographic Techniques and Equipment skill was 86.82 which was statistically significantly higher than 80 percent and 4) the average of Using Technology skill was 88.37 which was statistically significantly higher than 80 percent

3. The percentage of learning achievement of Prathomsuksa 5 Students who learned with Problem-Based Learning on the topic of Muang Prasat Hin, Tin Phukhao Fai was statistically significantly higher than 80 percent at .05.

4. Prathomsuksa 5 Students’ satisfaction with Problem-Based Learning activities was highest with a mean of 4.53.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมาย 1) เพื่อพัฒนากิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์เมืองปราสาทหิน ถิ่นภูเขาไฟ ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ที่มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบทักษะทางภูมิศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐานกับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 ของคะแนนเต็ม 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน สาระภูมิศาสตร์ เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์เมืองปราสาทหิน ถิ่นภูเขาไฟ ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐานกับเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 ของคะแนนเต็ม 4) เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน กลุ่มตัวอย่างได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5/5 โรงเรียนอนุบาลบุรีรัมย์ อำเภอเมืองบุรีรัมย์ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2565 จำนวน 43 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน จำนวน 7 แผน แผนละ 2 ชั่วโมง รวม 14 ชั่วโมง 2) แบบวัดทักษะทางภูมิศาสตร์ 4 ทักษะ ซึ่งเป็นแบบวัดทักษะเชิงอัตนัย ทักษะละ 2 สถานการณ์ รวม 8 สถานการณ์ 3) แบบทดสอบวัดผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน เป็นแบบปรนัยชนิดเลือกตอบ 4 ตัวเลือก จำนวน 30 ข้อ 4) แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน เป็นแบบวัดมาตราส่วนประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ จำนวน 3 ด้าน รวม 15 ข้อ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และสถิติทดสอบ One Samples t-test

ผลการวิจัยปรากฏดังนี้

1. ผลการพัฒนาแผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์เมืองปราสาทหิน ถิ่นภูเขาไฟ ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 มีประสิทธิภาพเท่ากับ 83.32/85.13 ซึ่งเป็นไปตามเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดไว้ 80/80

2. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ที่เรียนด้วยกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน มีทักษะทางภูมิศาสตร์หลังเรียนโดยรวมสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 ของคะแนนเต็ม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และมีคะแนนรายทักษะ ดังนี้ 1) ทักษะการสังเกตเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 87.60 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) ทักษะการแปลความข้อมูลทางภูมิศาสตร์เฉลี่ยร้อยละ 84.88 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 3) ทักษะการใช้เทคนิคและเครื่องมือทางภูมิศาสตร์เฉลี่ยร้อยละ 86.82 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และ 4) ทักษะการใช้เทคโนโลยีเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 88.37 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

3. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ที่เรียนด้วยกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน เรื่อง ภูมิศาสตร์เมืองปราสาทหิน ถิ่นภูเขาไฟ มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนหลังเรียน สาระภูมิศาสตร์ สูงกว่าเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 80 ของคะแนนเต็ม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

4. นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 มีความพึงพอใจต่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน เฉลี่ย 4.53 ซึ่งอยู่ในระดับพึงพอใจมากที่สุด
