Signification and Meaning of Material Particle in Isan Folklore Literature

Abstract

This thesis is intended to study the importance and cultural meaning of particles and objects in Isan folk tales. It was based on a total of 25 written literature.

The results showed that the importance of objects in Isan folklore literature appear in four things: 1. The importance of the theme is the essence of the matter related to the Dharma principle and the theme of the story is about beliefs and views. 2. The importance of the plot. 3. The importance of the character which is the importance of the protagonist, the villain and the supporting characters. 4. The importance of the scene: palaces, ashrams, houses, fields, forests, riverbanks, ponds, seas, battlefields, and markets.

The meaning of particles and objects in Isan folklore literature was found that there are 3 meanings: 1. The meaning that is connected with the issue of class, which is an object that shows the power and prestige of the king and objects that show the power and prestige of the person who has merit objects that show the power and prestige of those who descended from the heavens, object that shows the power and prestige of a person who has magic skills and objects that show the power and prestige of non-human beings. 2. The meaning that is linked to political issue. 3. The meaning that is linked to issues of religious belief which is to use is for gambling and the usage of objects for making funerals. The study of meaning and significance of material particles in Isan folk tales makes them know and understand that even just objects that appear in fairy tale literature reflect the importance of the story, characters, or even the scene. Without these particles, the plot will not be very interesting. In addition, it also reflects the hidden meaning within each object in terms of way of life, ideas, class-based society, traditions, rituals and beliefs of Isan people very well.

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาความสำคัญ และความหมายทางวัฒนธรรมของอนุภาควัตถุสิ่งของในนิทานพื้นบ้านอีสาน โดยศึกษาจากวรรณกรรมประเภทลายลักษณ์จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 25 เรื่อง

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ความสำคัญของวัตถุสิ่งของในวรรณกรรมนิทานพื้นบ้านอีสาน ปรากฏ 4 อย่าง คือ 1. ความสำคัญที่มีต่อแก่นเรื่อง คือ แก่นของเรื่องที่เกี่ยวกับหลักธรรม และแก่นของเรื่องที่เกี่ยวกับความเชื่อและทัศนะ 2. ความสำคัญที่มีต่อโครงเรื่อง 3. ความสำคัญที่มีต่อตัวละคร คือ ความสำคัญที่มีต่อตัวละครเอก ความสำคัญที่มีต่อตัวละครร้าย และความสำคัญที่มีต่อตัวละครประกอบผู้ช่วยเหลือ 4. ความสำคัญที่มีต่อฉาก คือ พระรางวัง อาศรม บ้าน ทุ่งนา ป่า ริมฝั่งน้ำ สระน้ำ ทะเล สนามรบ และตลาด ส่วนความหมายของอนุภาควัตถุสิ่งของในวรรณกรรมนิทานพื้นบ้านอีสาน พบว่ามี 3 ความหมาย คือ 1. ความหมายที่เชื่อมโยงกับประเด็นเรื่องชนชั้น คือ วัตถุสิ่งของที่แสดงให้เห็นอำนาจบารมีของกษัตริย์ วัตถุสิ่งของที่แสดงให้เห็นอำนาจบารมีของผู้มีบุญบารมี วัตถุสิ่งของที่แสดงให้เห็นอำนาจบารมีของผู้ที่ลงมาเกิดจากสวรรค์ วัตถุสิ่งของที่แสดงให้เห็นอำนาจบารมีของผู้ที่มีวิชาอาคม วัตถุสิ่งของที่แสดงให้เห็นอำนาจบารมีของอมนุษย์ 2. ความหมายที่เชื่อมโยงกับประเด็นเรื่องการเมือง 3. ความหมายที่เชื่อมโยงกับประเด็นเรื่องความเชื่อศาสนา คือ การใช้วัตถุสิ่งของเพื่อการเสี่ยงทาย การใช้วัตถุสิ่งของเพื่อการอธิฐาน การใช้วัตถุสิ่งของเพื่อทำศพ

การศึกษาความหมายและความสำคัญของอนุภาควัตถุสิ่งของในนิทานพื้นบ้านอีสาน ทำให้ทราบและเข้าใจว่าแม้เพียงวัตถุสิ่งของที่ปรากฏในวรรณกรรมประเภทนิทานได้สะท้อนให้เห็นความสำคัญต่อเนื้อเรื่อง ตัวละคร หรือแม้กระทั่งฉาก หากขาดอนุภาคเหล่านี้เนื้อเรื่องก็ไม่น่าติดตาม นอกจากนั้นยังสะท้อนให้เห็นความหมายที่แฝงไว้ภายในวัตถุแต่ละอย่างทั้งด้านวิถีชีวิต ความคิด สังคมชนชั้น ประเพณี พิธีกรรมและความเชื่อของชาวอีสานได้เป็นอย่างดี
