The Strategies of Presentation about the feminist of Tale Literary Work “Phra Roth Meri” in Thai Version

Abstract

This thesis consists of two main research objectives: to study language strategies of presentation about the feminist of Tale Literary Work "Phra Roth Meri" in Thai version and to study the feminist of Tale Literary Work "Phra Roth Meri" in Thai version by learning from the data collection about Phra Roth at Silapakorn that has been examined from the original text of Thai book. That book was reserved at the National Library and published in 2009, around 13 idioms, including Roth Chatok 01 idiom, Kaykab Mai Reoung Phra Roth Meri 01 idiom, Phra Roth Kham Klon 01 idiom, Phra Roth Nirat 03 idioms, and the poem of Phra Roth 07 idioms by using the main concepts such as language strategies, and secondary concepts: feminist and gender identity.

The study results articulated that the strategies of presentation about the feminist of tale literary work "Phra Roth Meri" in Thai version have been presented in various language designs or words through the texts of Phra Roth Meri tale having 02 characteristics: 1) strategies of using words include single-word feminine expressions and compound words, as well as feminine connotations in connection with nature and power; 2) rhetorical strategies consist of rhetoric that reflects love, sadness, and merit, including symbols about nature and events. As for the feminist tale literary work, "Phra Roth Meri," in the Thai version, it was found that there were 03 characteristics as 1) femininity characteristics by particular beauty such as women with a beautiful face, skin, eyes, and good figure; 2) femininity characteristics by demonstrative behaviour is women having desirable with both valuable and attractive bodies. Some women are not desirable behaviour; 3) the femininity characteristics showing the role of women such as motherhood and being a wife by summarizing the strategies of presentation about the feminist of tale literary work "Phra Roth Meri" in Thai version in addition to the variety of words used. Tale literary work Phra Roth Meri also comprises outstanding and fascinating in many ways. It is also a tale literary work that plays an essential role in society, reflecting the way of life and ideas made by Thai women from the past to the present that have influenced all peoples' thoughts and beliefs.

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีความมุ่งหมายของการวิจัยหลัก 2 ประการ คือเพื่อศึกษากลวิธีทางภาษาในการนำเสนอความเป็นหญิงในวรรณกรรมนิทานพระรถเมรีฉบับภาษาไทย และเพื่อศึกษาลักษณะความเป็นหญิงในวรรณกรรมนิทานเรื่องพระรถเมรีฉบับภาษาไทย โดยศึกษาจากข้อมูลประชุมเรื่องพระรถที่กรมศิลปากรได้ตรวจชำระจากต้นฉบับหนังสือสมุดไทย ซึ่งเก็บรักษาอยู่ที่ห้องสมุดแห่งชาติ และจัดพิมพ์เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2552 จำนวน 13 สำนวน ได้แก่ รถเสนชาดก 1 สำนวน กาพย์ขับไม้เรื่องพระรถเมรี 1 สำนวน พระรถคำกลอน 1 สำนวน พระรถนิราศ 3 สำนวน และบทละครเรื่องพระรถ 7 สำนวน โดยใช้แนวความคิดหลัก คือ แนวคิดกลวิธีทางภาษา และแนวคิดรอง ได้แก่แนวคิดความเป็นหญิง แนวคิดอัตลักษณ์เพศสภาพ

ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่า กลวิธีการนำเสนอความเป็นหญิงในวรรณกรรมนิทานพระรถเมรีฉบับภาษาไทยได้นำเสนอรูปแบบภาษาหรือถ้อยคำต่าง ๆ ผ่านตัวบทวรรณกรรมเรื่องพระรถเมรีมี 2 ลักษณะ คือ 1) กลวิธีทางการใช้คำศัพท์ ได้แก่ คำเรียกผู้หญิงที่มีความหมายตรงที่เป็นคำเดียว และคำประสม รวมถึงคำเรียกผู้หญิงที่มีความหมายแฝงโดยเชื่อมโยงกับธรรมชาติ และอำนาจ 2) กลวิธีทางการใช้วาทศิลป์ ได้แก่ การใช้สำนวนโวหารที่สะท้อนถึงความรัก ความเศร้า และบุญบาป รวมถึงการใช้สัญลักษณ์เกี่ยวกับธรรมชาติ และเหตุการณ์ ส่วนลักษณะความเป็นหญิงในวรรณกรรมนิทานเรื่องพระรถเมรีฉบับภาษาไทยพบว่ามีอยู่ 3 ลักษณะ คือ 1) ลักษณะความเป็นหญิงที่มีความงดงามเฉพาะส่วน ได้แก่ ผู้หญิงที่มีใบหน้างาม มีผิวงาม มีตางาม และมีรูปร่างงาม 2) ลักษณะความเป็นหญิงที่แสดงถึงพฤติกรรม ได้แก่ ผู้หญิงที่พึงประสงค์ทั้งมีคุณค่าและมีเสน่ห์ในตัว อีกทั้งยังมีผู้หญิงที่ไม่พึงประสงค์ 3) ลักษณะความเป็นหญิงที่แสดงถึงบทบาทหน้าที่ ได้แก่ ผู้หญิงที่มีความเป็นแม่ และมีความเป็นภรรยา โดยสรุป กลวิธีการนำเสนอความเป็นหญิงในวรรณกรรมพระรถเมรีฉบับภาษาไทย นอกจากจะมีความหลากหลายทางการใช้ถ้อยคำแล้ว วรรณกรรมนิทานพระรถเมรียังมีความโดดเด่นและความน่าสนใจในหลายด้าน ทั้งยังเป็นวรรณกรรมนิทานที่มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อสังคมซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นวิถีชีวิต ความคิด โดยฉพาะผู้หญิงไทยในอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบันที่มีอิทธิพลต่อความคิดความเชื่อของผู้คนทุกชนชั้นในสังคม
