Using Active Learning to Enhance Student’s Documentary Writing Skill Based on Local Information for 12 Grade Students

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) use an active learning approach to enhance the student’s learning process for documentary writing skill based on their local information for 12 Grade Students in which it should meet a 75/75 standard criteria; 2) compare the student’s writing skill before and after allowing them to learn via the active learning approach. The sample group comprised 30 students from a class of 12/7 Grade Students in Prasatwittayakarn School, Surin Province, who were studying in Semester 2/2022. These students were selected by simple random sampling using a lottery method in which the classroom was a sampling unit. The research tools were: 1) A set of 10 lesson plans on enhancing the student’s documentary writing skill using an active learning approach; and 2) An essay test on the student’s documentary writing skill using local information. After that, the collected data was finally analyzed to define the mean score and the Standard Deviation (S.D.); the dependent samples t-test was performed as well.

The study outcome indicated that:

1. The effectiveness of the lesson plans on enhancing the student’s documentary writing skill from the local information of 12 Grade Students significantly reached the E1/E2 criteria of 83.23/83.27 which was higher than the expected 75/75 criteria.

2. The student’s post-test score on documentary writing skill was higher with than their pre-test score with a statistical significance of .05.

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาการจัดการเรียนรู้การเขียนสารคดีจากข้อมูลท้องถิ่นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้เชิงรุก ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 75/75 2) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านการเขียนสารคดีจากข้อมูลท้องถิ่นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ก่อนและหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้เชิงรุก กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6/7 โรงเรียนประสาทวิทยาคาร อำเภอปราสาท จังหวัดสุรินทร์ ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2565 จำนวน 30 คน ซึ่งได้จากการสุ่มอย่างง่าย (Simple Random Sampling) ด้วยวิธีจับสลาก โดยใช้ห้องเรียนเป็นหน่วยสุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้การเขียนสารคดีจากข้อมูลท้องถิ่นด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้เชิงรุก จำนวน 10 แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ 2) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถด้านการเขียนสารคดีจากข้อมูลท้องถิ่น แบบอัตนัย จำนวน 1 ข้อ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) และการทดสอบค่าทีแบบไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน (dependent samples t-test)

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า

1. ประสิทธิภาพของการจัดการเรียนรู้การเขียนสารคดีจากข้อมูลท้องถิ่นของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้เชิงรุก มีค่าเท่ากับ 83.23/83.27 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ที่ตั้งไว้ คือ 75/75

2. ความสามารถด้านการเขียนสารคดีจากข้อมูลท้องถิ่นของนักเรียนกลุ่มตัวอย่างหลังเรียน สูงกว่าก่อนเรียนด้วยการจัดการเรียนรู้เชิงรุก อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
