Male Major Characters in Thai Language Text books Literature Appreciation : Image and Ideology

Abstract

This study aims to explore images and ideologies via male major characters in Mattayom 1-6 textbooks of Thai Language, “Literature Appreciation”. These textbooks are compulsory courses along with the Basic Educational Core Curriculum B.E. 2551. According to the research data, the text analysis is derived from 17 stories with 19 characters towards the conceptual frameworks of images and ideologies. The findings show that there are 11 images apparent in male major characters towards Mattayom 1-6 textbooks of Thai Language, “Literature Appreciation”. Such images are categorized as the characters with perseverance, loyalty to king and nation, bravery, intellectual artisan, power obsession, temper in decision-making, westernized obsession, dedication, love enchantment, selfishness, and honesty. The ideologies apparent in male major characters mostly reveal the patriot, monarch, marginal people and affection.

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาภาพลักษณ์และอุดมการณ์ที่นำเสนอผ่านตัวละครเอกชายในหนังสือเรียนวิชาภาษาไทย วรรณคดีวิจักษ์ ระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1-6 โดยศึกษาจากตัวบทวรรณคดีในหนังสือเรียนภาษาไทย วรรณคดีวิจักษ์ หลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พุทธศักราช 2551 ทั้งสิ้น 17 เรื่อง 19 ตัวละคร ผู้วิจัยได้ใช้กรอบแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับภาพลักษณ์ และกรอบแนวคิดเรื่องอุดมการณ์ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัยเพื่อศึกษาภาพลักษณ์ที่ตัวละครเอกชายที่ปรากฏในหนังสือเรียนภาษาไทย วรรณคดีวิจักษ์ และเพื่อศึกษาอุดมการณ์ที่นำเสนอผ่านภาพลักษณ์ตัวละครเอกชายที่ปรากฏในหนังสือเรียนภาษาไทย วรรณคดีวิจักษ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ภาพลักษณ์ตัวละครเอกชายที่ปรากฏในหนังสือเรียนภาษาไทย วรรณคดีวิจักษ์ ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1-6 จำแนก 11 ภาพลักษณ์ ได้แก่ ภาพลักษณ์ผู้มีความอดทนเพียรพยายาม ภาพลักษณ์ผู้จงรักภักดีต่อพระมหากษัตริย์และชาติบ้านเมือง ภาพลักษณ์ผู้กล้าหาญ ภาพลักษณ์ผู้รอบรู้ในงานช่างและศิลปะ ภาพลักษณ์ผู้หลงใหลในอำนาจ ภาพลักษณ์ผู้ใช้อารมณ์ตัดสินปัญหา ภาพลักษณ์ผู้หลงในวัฒนธรรมตะวันตก ภาพลักษณ์ผู้เสียสละ ภาพลักษณ์ของผู้ลุ่มหลงในความรัก ภาพลักษณ์ผู้เห็นแก่ตัว และภาพลักษณ์ผู้ซื่อสัตย์ ส่วนอุดมการณ์ที่นำเสนอผ่านตัวละครเอกชายที่พบมากที่สุดคือ อุดมการณ์รักชาติ อุดมการณ์สถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ อุดมการณ์คนชายขอบ และอุดมการณ์ความรัก
