Factor Analysis of motivation in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University

Abstract

ABSTRACT

The purposes of this research were : 1) to study the motivational elements in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University 2) to analyze the determinant components of motivation in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University. 3) to study the motivation in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University. The sample was the first year students in Rajabhat Maha Sarakam University of 1540 persons were divided into 2 groups : The first group used to analyze the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) of 560 persons, and the second group used to analyze the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and study the motivation of 980 persons. The smple was used by a stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire about the motivation in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University. The content validity was 0.67 to 1.00 ; the discriminative power was 0.208 to 0.889, the reliability of the questionnaire was 0.973 The data were analyzed by Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The research results were as follow :

1. The Analysis of motivational elements in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University consisted of 6 components: Environment and Service, Public relations and Values, Image of the university, Curriculum, Media and Learning materials, Teacher.

2. Confirmatory Factor Analysis revealed that the model was consistent with empirical data. The weight of the variables of motivation in choosing a bachelor's degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University in all 6 aspects was positive, ranging from 0.837 to 0.929, which was statistically significant at 0.05 level. The image of the university on the environment and service courses. Instructor Public Relations and Values and the Media and Learning equipment. The coefficient of fit between the models and the empirical data was 0.929, 0.928, 0.909, 0.900, 0.845 and 0.837 respectively. Chi-square was 1040.886. The index of probability (P-value) was 0.080, degrees of freedom (df) was 978, Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) was 0.956, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) was 0.952, Standardized Root Mean Squared Residual (SRMR) was 0.031, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) was 0.008.

3. The motivation in choosing a bachelor’s degree of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University was high (Mean was 3.714).

บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมาย 1) เพื่อศึกษาองค์ประกอบแรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญาตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคาม 2) เพื่อวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยันของแรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญาตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคาม 3) เพื่อศึกษาแรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญาตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคาม ตัวอย่างคือ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคาม ปีการศึกษา 2560 จำนวน 1,540 คน แบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มที่ 1 ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงสำรวจ (Exploratory Factor Analysis : EFA) จำนวน 560 คน และกลุ่มที่ 2 ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยัน (Confirmatory Factor Analysis : CFA) และศึกษาแรงจูงใจ จำนวน 980 คน โดยการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้น (Stratified Random Sampling) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถาม เรื่อง แรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญา ตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคาม ชนิดมาตราส่วนประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ ค่าความตรงของแบบสอบถาม เท่ากับ 0.670 ถึง 1.000 ค่าอำนาจจำแนกเท่ากับ 0.208 ถึง 0.889 ค่าความเที่ยงของแบบสอบถามทั้งฉบับเท่ากับ 0.973 การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงสำรวจ และการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยัน ผลการวิจัย พบว่า

1. การวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบแรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญาตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคาม ประกอบด้วย 6 องค์ประกอบ คือ 1) องค์ประกอบด้านสภาพแวดล้อมและการบริการ 2) องค์ประกอบด้านการประชาสัมพันธ์และค่านิยม 3) องค์ประกอบด้านหลักสูตร 4) องค์ประกอบด้านภาพลักษณ์มหาวิทยาลัย 5) องค์ประกอบด้านสื่อและอุปกรณ์การเรียน และ 6) องค์ประกอบด้านอาจารย์ผู้สอน

2. การวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยัน พบว่าโมเดลมีความสอดคล้องกลมกลืนกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์ มีค่าน้ำหนักองค์ประกอบของตัวแปรแรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญาตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคามทั้ง 6 ด้าน มีค่าเป็นบวก มีค่าตั้งแต่ 0.837 ถึง 0.929 มีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 ทุกค่า ค่าน้ำหนักองค์ประกอบเรียงลำดับจากมากไปน้อยคือ ด้านภาพลักษณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัย ด้านหลักสูตร ด้านสภาพแวดล้อมและการบริการ ด้านอาจารย์ผู้สอน ด้านการประชาสัมพันธ์และค่านิยม และด้านสื่อและอุปกรณ์การเรียน มีน้ำหนักองค์ประกอบเท่ากับ 0.929, 0.928, 0.909, 0.900, 0.845 และ 0.837 ตามลำดับ ดัชนีวัดระดับความกลมกลืนระหว่างโมเดลกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์ ได้ค่าไคกำลังสอง เท่ากับ 1040.886 ค่าพี (P-value) เท่ากับ 0.080 ที่องศาเสรี (df) เท่ากับ 978 ค่าดัชนีวัดระดับความกลมกลืน (GFI) เท่ากับ 0.956 ค่าดัชนีวัดระดับความกลมกลืนที่ปรับแก้แล้ว (AGFI) เท่ากับ 0.952 ค่ารากเฉลี่ยกำลังสองของเศษเหลือในรูปคะแนนมาตรฐาน (SRMR) เท่ากับ 0.031 ค่ารากเฉลี่ยกำลังสองของความคลาดเคลื่อนโดยประมาณ (RMSEA) เท่ากับ 0.008

3. แรงจูงใจในการเลือกเรียนระดับปริญญาตรีมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏมหาสารคามในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับสูง (ค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 3.714)
