A Construction of a Reading Promotion Module on “Song Poom Phoom Muang Mahasarakham” for Upper Elementary in the Small Primary Schools

Abstract

This study attempted to develop an innovation for reading promotion for the upper elementary school students on Song Poom Phoom Muang Mahasarakham (Looking Back through the Background of Maha Sarakham) with the 2 following objectives: 1) To design and develop an innovation for reading skill promotion on “Song Poom Phoom Muang Mahasarakham” for upper elementary school students in small schools; and 2) To evaluate and reflect the user’s opinions toward the innovation. According to the study outcome, it was found that: 1) In term of the innovation design and development for all 10 learning units, the learning unit with highest quality value was Unit 3: Lao Ruang Rao Prang Ghu Ku Maung (Storytelling of Prang Ghu Pagoda) with a fitness value of 4.76 and the level of quality was mostly suitable; on the other hands, the learning unit with lowest quality value was Unit 2: Lum Num Siang Glong Yao (The Rhyme of Glong Yao) and Unit 7: Lue Nam Pra That Na Doom (The Fame of Na Doon Pagoda) with the same fitness value of 4.59 but the level of quality remained mostly suitable. After considering the reading skill promoting innovation that the research created following the six major components, it was discovered that Value and Benefit of Innovation was the one with highest quality with a fitness value of 4.80 and it was the most suitable component; whereas, the component with the lowest quality was Design of Innovation with a fitness value of 4.54 but the level of quality was still most suitable. In term of the overall quality of the innovation on Song Poom Phoom Muang Mahasarakham after it was tried out with the sample group of the upper elementary school students, it was found that the quality value of the innovation was 4.67 and the level of quality was mostly suitable; 2) According to the data analysis after evaluating the innovation by the sample group, the quality value of all components was 4.67 as the level of quality was mostly suitable. Additionally, this data from the student’s evaluation was further analyzed to define an average of the overall quality of the innovation in which it was 4.79 and the level of quality was mostly suitable. As a matter of fact, this reading skill promoting innovation on Song Poom Phoom Muang Mahasarakham had been delicately developed following the conceptual framework and theories and verified by the experts before it was implemented practically so it is featured with outstanding content, local wisdom and knowledge that can be used to enhancing not only learner’s reading skill but also their learning achievement on reading module in a Thai subject. Moreover, this innovation can be integrated with any subjects to improve learner’s learning outcome e.g. Social Studies, History, Home Economies, etc.

การวิจัยเรื่อง การพัฒนานวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน ชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก มีความมุ่งหมายในการวิจัย คือ 1) เพื่อออกแบบพัฒนานวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่านชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก 2) เพื่อประเมินและสะท้อนคิดต่อนวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่านชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก ผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) การออกแบบและพัฒนานวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน ทั้ง 10 หน่วยการเรียนรู้ พบว่า หน่วยการเรียนรู้ที่มีคุณภาพสูงสุด คือ หน่วยการเรียนรู้ที่ 3 เล่าเรื่องราวปรางค์กู่คู่เมือง มีค่าความเหมาะสมอยู่ที่ระดับ 4.76 ระดับคุณภาพ เหมาะสมมากที่สุด หน่วยการเรียนรู้ที่มีคุณภาพน้อยที่สุด คือ หน่วยการเรียนรู้ที่ 2 ลำนำเสียงกลองยาว และหน่วยการเรียนรู้ที่ 7 ลือนามพระธาตุนาดูน ซึ่งมีระดับคุณภาพเท่ากันคือ 4.59 ระดับคุณภาพเหมาะสมมากที่สุด เมื่อพิจารณานวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่านที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้นรายด้านทั้ง 6 ด้าน พบว่าด้านที่มีคุณภาพสูงสุด คือ ด้านคุณค่าและประโยชน์ของนวัตกรรม มีค่าความเหมาะสมอยู่ที่ระดับ 4.80 ระดับคุณภาพ มีความเหมาะสมมากที่สุด ด้านที่มีคุณภาพต่ำสุดจากการประเมินคือ ด้านรูปแบบของนวัตกรรม ระดับความเหมาะสมอยู่ที่ 4.54 ระดับคุณภาพ มีความเหมาะสมมากที่สุด คุณภาพในภาพรวมของนวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน ชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็กทั้งชุดก่อนการนำไปใช้กับกลุ่มตัวอย่าง มีค่าคุณภาพอยู่ที่ 4.67 ระดับคุณภาพ เหมาะสมมากที่สุด 2) ผลการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลที่ได้มาโดยการประเมินนวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน ชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย ในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก ของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จะพบว่า คุณภาพของนวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน ชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก มีระดับคุณภาพรายด้านทุกด้าน อยู่ระดับเหมาะสมมากที่สุด เมื่อนำมาหาค่าเฉลี่ยเพื่อประเมินคุณภาพโดยรวมของนวัตกรรมที่ประเมินจากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง พบว่ามีคะแนนเฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 4.79 ระดับคุณภาพ มีความเหมาะสมมากที่สุด ทั้งนี้ เนื่องจากการพัฒนานวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน ชุด “ส่องปูมภูมิเมืองมหาสารคาม” มีการศึกษาค้นคว้ากรอบแนวคิด ทฤษฎี เพื่อใช้ในการพัฒนานวัตกรรม และผ่านการประเมินจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญก่อนนำไปใช้จริง ซึ่งนวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่านที่พัฒนาขึ้นเป็นนวัตกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่านที่มีความโดดเด่นด้านการใช้เนื้อหาสาระ องค์ความรู้ ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น สามารถนำไปใช้ในการพัฒนาทักษะการอ่าน และนำไปใช้พัฒนาผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนในสาระการอ่าน ในรายวิชาภาษาไทย อีกทั้งสามารถนำไปบูรณาการการสอนกับรายวิชาอื่นได้ เช่น วิชาสังคมศึกษา วิชาประวัติศาสตร์ วิชาการงานอาชีพ เป็นต้น
