The Female Character in Phongsakorn's Detective Novels : Presentation Technigues and Images

Abstract

The research titled "Female Characters in Phongsakorn's Detective Novels: Presentation Techniques and Images" is a qualitative study that aims to examine the presentation techniques and images of female characters in six detective novels by Phongsakorn. The analysis employs conceptual frameworks of character presentation techniques, female characters, and character images.

The study reveals two main findings: 1. The presentation techniques of female characters in Phongsakorn's detective novels consist of three aspects: 1) background of female characters, 2) distinctive characteristics of female characters, including analytical thinking abilities, meticulousness, calmness, patience, endurance, sense of justice and righteousness, courage, resourcefulness, ability to handle immediate problems with presence of mind, good interpersonal skills, observational skills, decisiveness, and determination, and 3) character presentation techniques, which include realistic, archetypal, and surrealistic approaches. 2. The images of female characters in Phongsakorn's detective novels encompass two aspects: 1) shared images, which reveal the status and roles of female characters as daughters, mothers, and wives, with physical appearances of beauty, personalities combining traditional and modern Thai female characteristics, and abilities including intelligence, knowledge and expertise, rationality, prudence, and self-confidence, and 2) unique images, which show diverse backgrounds and professional statuses, moral and immoral personality traits, as well as distinctive skills in creating murder mystery plots and gathering evidence to solve cases and apprehend criminals.

The presentation techniques reveal diverse images in detective novel texts that reflect the roles and functions of female characters evolving according to social contexts with cultural dimensions of class, gender, status, and beliefs, promoting understanding, equality between male and female characters, and social acceptance.

การวิจัยเรื่อง “ตัวละครหญิงในนวนิยายแนวสืบสวนสอบสวนของพงศกร : กลวิธีการนำเสนอและภาพลักษณ์” เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากลวิธีการนำเสนอและภาพลักษณ์ของตัวละครหญิงในนวนิยายแนวสืบสวนสอบสวนของพงศกร จำนวน 6 เรื่อง วิเคราะห์โดยใช้กรอบแนวคิดกลวิธีการนำเสนอ ตัวละครหญิง และภาพลักษณ์

ผลการศึกษาพบ 2 ประเด็น ดังนี้ 1. กลวิธีการนำเสนอตัวละครหญิงในนวนิยายแนวสืบสวนสอบสวนของพงศกร 3 ประเด็น ดังนี้ 1) ภูมิหลังของตัวละครหญิง 2) ลักษณะเด่นของ ตัวละครหญิง ได้แก่ มีความสามารถคิดวิเคราะห์ มีความละเอียด รอบครอบใจเย็น อดทน อดกลั้น มีความยุติธรรม รักความถูกต้อง มีความกล้าหาญ มีไหวพริบปฏิภาณและมีสติสามารถแก้ไขปัญหาเฉพาะหน้าได้ดี มีมนุษยสัมพันธ์ดี เป็นคนช่างสังเกต กล้าตัดสินใจ และมีความมุ่งมั่นตั้งใจ 3) กลวิธีการนำเสนอตัวละครหญิง พบการนำเสนอตัวละครแนวสมจริง แนวแบบฉบับ และแนวเหนือจริง 2. ภาพลักษณ์ของตัวละครหญิงในนวนิยายแนวสืบสวนสอบสวนของพงศกร 2 ประเด็น ดังนี้ 1) ภาพลักษณ์ร่วม พบว่า สถานภาพและบทบาทของตัวละครหญิงในฐานะลูกสาว ฐานะแม่ และฐานะภรรยา ซึ่งตัวละครมีรูปลักษณ์ภายนอกที่งดงาม มีลักษณะนิสัยเหมือนหญิงไทยสมัยเก่าและสมัยใหม่ อีกทั้งยังมีทักษะความสามารถในด้านมีสติปัญญาเฉลียวฉลาด มีความรู้ความชำนาญ มีเหตุ มีผล สุขุมรอบคอบ และมีความเชื่อมั่นในตนเอง 2) ภาพลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว พบว่า ตัวละครมีภูมิหลังและสถานภาพการประกอบอาชีพที่หลากหลาย มีลักษณะนิสัยในด้านความมีคุณธรรม และการขาดคุณธรรม รวมไปถึงการมีทักษะความสามารถเฉพาะตัวของตัวละครในการสร้างเรื่องราว เหตุการณ์ คดีฆาตกรรมต่าง ๆ ตลอดจนการการหาหลักฐาน เพื่อให้คลี่คลายคดีจนสามารถจับตัวคนร้ายได้

กลวิธีการนำเสนอพบว่ามีการนำเสนอผ่านภาพลักษณ์ที่หลากหลายในตัวบทวรรณกรรมประเภทนวนิยายแนวสืบสวนสอบสวนซึ่งได้สะท้อนบทบาทและหน้าที่ของตัวละครหญิงที่เปลี่ยนแปลงตามบริบททางสังคมที่มีมิติวัฒนธรรมของชนชั้น เพศ สถานะ ความเชื่อ เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจ ความเท่าเทียมกันระหว่างตัวละครชายและตัวละครหญิง และเกิดการยอมรับจากผู้คนในสังคม
