Development of an Instructional Package on Role-play to Support Speaking Capacity for the 1st Year Students in High Vocational Certificate Level

Abstract

This study aimed to 1) develop an instructional package of role-play for the 1st year students in the high vocational certificate level, 2) explore the package’s efficiency to support the students’ speaking capacity with the criteria at 80/80, and 3) compare the pre-post speaking capacity of the students between the role-play package and normal learning. The sampling group consisted of 30 first-year students from Mahasarakham Vocational College with a high vocational certification level (High Voc. Cert.). The samples enrolled on a Thai Language Skills for Career Communication course, the course code 30000-1101, academic year of 2024. By cluster random sampling, the students were divided into 2 groups, an experimental group, and a control group. The experimental group were 14 students from the Department of Accounting (Section 1, 4AC1) with the role-play instructional package. The control group were 16 students from the Department of Accounting (Section 2, 4AC2) with normal instructional learning. As the research method, a quasi-experimental design was used with non-randomized control group and a pretest-posttest design. The research tools were 1) 5 sets of instructional packages with role-play, on the topics of speaking for job interview, speaking for demonstration, welcoming speech, blessing speech, and farewell speech, 2) 5 lesson plans on the instructional packages with role-play for the sampling group of the students, test of speaking capacity for the 1st year students in the high vocational certificate level. The data analysis comprised efficiency, means, standard deviation, statistics, and an independent sample t-test.

The findings were as follows:

1) The 5 instructional package sets with role-play for students in the high vocational certificate matched the high vocational certificate program, B.E. 2563. They were compatible with the student level.

2) The instructional packages with role-play for the 1st year students in the high vocational certificate showed the efficiency at 82.93/ 83.24, higher than the efficiency criteria set at 80/80.

3) Regarding the speaking capacity of the 1st year students in the high vocational certificate level, the experimental group with the role-paly instructional package showed means scores at 16.64, the standard deviation at 1.05, higher than the means scores of the control group with normal learning at 13.44, the standard deviation at 0.26 with the statistical significance at .05.

วิทยานิพนธ์ เรื่อง การพัฒนาชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ เพื่อเสริมสร้างความสามารถด้านการพูด สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 2) เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ เพื่อเสริมสร้างความสามารถด้านการพูดสำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80 และ 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านการพูดก่อนและหลังเรียน ของนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 ที่จัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติกับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ นักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง (ปวส.) ชั้นปีที่ 1 วิทยาลัยอาชีวศึกษามหาสารคาม ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนวิชาทักษะภาษาไทยเพื่อการสื่อสารในงานอาชีพ รหัสวิชา 30000-1101 ปีการศึกษา 2567 จำนวน 30 คน ซึ่งได้มาด้วยวิธีการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม (Cluster Random Sampling) ได้นักศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 2 กลุ่มเรียน ซึ่งกลุ่มทดลอง คือ นักศึกษาภาควิชาการบัญชี ห้อง 1 (4บช1) จำนวน 14 คน จัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติและกลุ่มควบคุม ได้แก่ นักศึกษาภาควิชาการบัญชี ห้อง 2 (4บช2) จำนวน 16 คน จัดการเรียนรู้ด้วยวิธีการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติ โดยการวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้แบบแผนการวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง (Quasi-Experimental Design) แบบมีกลุ่มควบคุม ไม่ได้สุ่มและมีการทดสอบก่อนและหลังการทดลอง (Nonrandomized Control-Group, Pretest-Posttest Design) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) ชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ จำนวน 5 ชุด เรื่อง การพูดสัมภาษณ์งาน การพูดสาธิต การกล่าวต้อนรับ การกล่าวอวยพร และการกล่าวอำลาอาลัย 2) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ของชุดกิจกรรมแบบบทบาทสมมติสำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 จำนวน 5 แผน แบบวัดความสามารถด้านการพูดสำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการหาประสิทธิภาพ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานและค่าสถิติ และ t – test แบบ Independent Sample

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

1) ได้ชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 จำนวน 5 ชุด ที่สอดคล้องกับหลักสูตรระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง พ.ศ. 2563 และเหมาะสมกับระดับของนักศึกษา

2) ชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 ประสิทธิภาพ 82.93/83.21 ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ประสิทธิภาพที่กำหนดไว้ คือ 80/80

3) ความสามารถด้านการพูดของนักศึกษาระดับประกาศนียบัตรวิชาชีพชั้นสูง ชั้นปีที่ 1 กลุ่มทดลองหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ชุดกิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 16.64 ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เท่ากับ 1.05 สูงกกว่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยของกลุ่มควบคุมหลังการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติ เท่ากับ 13.44 และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เท่ากับ 0.26 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
