Development of Analytical Thinking by Applying Problem-based Learning for Prathomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract

This research aimed to develop analytical thinking by applying problem-based learning (PBL), targeting a standard of 70%. The target group consisted of one Prathomsuksa 5 classroom with a total of 20 students. A purposive sampling method was used to select 6 students as the research participants at Ban Phon Sawang School, Don Tan District, Mukdahan Province. The study was conducted under the Mukdahan Primary Educational Service Area Office during the first semester of academic year 2023. The research equipment consisted of (i) six plans for applying problem-based learning, totaling 12 hours. (ii) The data collection for analytical thinking test was implemented as participant observation for 20 items, a 10-item observational checklist of analytical thinking with item-objective congruence (IOC) values ranging from 0.60 to 1.00, and an analytical thinking behavioral assessment form based on individual interviews. The statistical methods used for data analysis included percentage, mean, and standard deviation.The research findings showed that in the first learning cycle, three students achieved an average score on the analytical thinking test above, with the percentage of 72.22% (x̅ = 21.67), while the remaining three scored below with the percentage of 50% (x̅ = 15.00). The average score from the observational checklist of analytical thinking behavior was 78.89% (x̅ = 23.67) for those who met the standard and 63.36% (x̅ = 19.00) for those who did not. In the second learning cycle, all students achieved scores above the standard at 70%. The average score on the analytical thinking test was 78.33% (x̅ = 23.50), and the average score from the observational checklist was 79.44% (x̅ = 24.71). The results demonstrate that students’ analytical thinking skills have improved. Furthermore, behavioral assessments from interviews confirmed that all students achieved the learning objectives through the implementation of applied problem-based learning in the second cycle.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อพัฒนาการคิดวิเคราะห์โดยการจัดการเรียนรู้ประยุกต์ปัญหาเป็นฐาน ให้ผ่านเกณฑ์ ร้อยละ 70 กลุ่มเป้าหมายที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 จำนวน 1 ห้องเรียน มีนักเรียนทั้งหมด 20 คน มีกลุ่มเป้าหมายจำนวน 6 คน โรงเรียนบ้านโพนสว่าง อำเภอดอนตาล จังหวัดมุกดาหาร สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษามุกดาหาร ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2566 โดยวิธีเลือกแบบเจาะจง (Purposive Sampling) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ประยุกต์ปัญหาเป็นฐาน จำนวน 6 แผน ใช้เวลาทั้งหมด 12 ชั่วโมง 2) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล ได้แก่ แบบทดสอบการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียนจำนวน 20 ข้อ แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียน จำนวน 10 ข้อ มีค่าความสอดคล้องตั้งแต่ 0.60-1.00 และ แบบประเมินพฤติกรรมการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียนจากการสัมภาษณ์รายบุคคล สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ผลการวิจัย พบว่า วงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 1 นักเรียนจำนวน 3 คน มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยรวมแบบทดสอบการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียน ผ่านเกณฑ์ ร้อยละ 72.22 (x̅= 21.67) และไม่ผ่านเกณฑ์ ร้อยละ 50 (x̅= 15.00) มีจำนวน 3 คนเช่นกัน คะแนนเฉลี่ยรวมแบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียน ผ่านเกณฑ์ ร้อยละ 78.89 (x̅= 23.67) และไม่ผ่านเกณฑ์ ร้อยละ 63.36 (x̅= 19.00) วงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 2 นักเรียนทุกคนมีคะแนนผ่านตามเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 โดยมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยรวมแบบทดสอบการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 78.33 (x̅= 23.50) คะแนนเฉลี่ยรวมแบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 79.44 (x̅= 24.71) แสดงให้เห็นว่านักเรียนมีพัฒนาการคิดวิเคราะห์สูงขึ้น และแบบประเมินพฤติกรรมการคิดวิเคราะห์ทางการเรียนจากการสัมภาษณ์ นักเรียนสามารถบรรลุวัตถุประสงค์การเรียนรู้โดยการจัดการเรียนรู้ประยุกต์ปัญหาเป็นฐานได้ทุกคนในวงจรปฏิบัติการที่ 2
