The Relationship between Stress, Fatigue and Maternal Role Attainment in Postpartum Mothers with Severe Preeclampsia

Abstract

This descriptive correlational research aimed to study the relationship between stress, fatigue, and maternal role attainment of postpartum mothers with severe preeclampsia. The sample consisted of 53 postpartum mothers with severe preeclampsia who were admitted to the postpartum ward, Mahasarakham Hospital, Mahasarakham Province, between June and September 2024. The research instruments were the Postpartum Stress Assessment, the Fatigue Assessment by Pugh et al., the Thai version by Jaratsri Theerakulchai, and the Maternal Role Attainment Assessment. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation coefficient. The results of the research found that postpartum mothers with severe preeclampsia had low levels of stress, with a mean stress score of 19.41 (SD = 2.97), low levels of fatigue, with a mean fatigue score of 47.52 (SD = 8.74), and high levels of maternal role attainment, with mean maternal role attainment score of 118.66 (SD = 8.39). Stress had a low level of negative relationship with maternal role attainment that was statistically significant (r = -.296, p < .05). Fatigue was not related to maternal role attainment. The results of this research can be used as basic information for nursing planning to reduce stress, fatigue and promote maternal role attainment of mother with severe preeclampsia.

การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนาแบบหาความสัมพันธ์ครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความเครียด ความเหนื่อยล้า และการดำรงบทบาทมารดาของมารดาหลังคลอดที่มีภาวะความดันโลหิตสูงขณะตั้งครรภ์ชนิดรุนแรง กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ มารดาหลังคลอดที่มีภาวะความดันโลหิตสูงขณะตั้งครรภ์ชนิดรุนแรง จำนวน 53 ราย ที่มานอนพักรักษาตัว ณ แผนกหลังคลอด โรงพยาบาลมหาสารคาม จังหวัดมหาสารคาม ระหว่างเดือนมิถุนายนถึงเดือนกันยายน 2567 เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบประเมินความเครียดในมารดาหลังคลอด แบบประเมินความเหนื่อยล้าของพิวจ์และคณะ ฉบับภาษาไทยโดย จรัสศรี ธีระกุลชัย และแบบประเมินการดำรงบทบาทมารดาหลังคลอด วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติพรรณนา และสถิติสหสัมพันธ์สเปียร์แมน

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า มารดาหลังคลอดที่มีภาวะความดันโลหิตสูงขณะตั้งครรภ์ชนิดรุนแรง มีความเครียดอยู่ในระดับต่ำ มีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความเครียด = 19.41 (SD = 2.97) มีความเหนื่อยล้าอยู่ในระดับต่ำ มีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความเหนื่อยล้า = 47.52 (SD = 8.74) มีการดำรงบทบาทมารดาอยู่ในระดับดีมาก มีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนน การดำรงบทบาทมารดา = 118.66 (SD = 8.39) และความเครียด มีความสัมพันธ์ทางลบระดับต่ำกับการดำรงบทบาทมารดาอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (r = -.296, p < .05) สำหรับความเหนื่อยล้าไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการดำรงบทบาทมารดา ผลการวิจัยนี้สามารถใช้เป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานสำหรับการวางแผนการพยาบาลเพื่อลดความเครียดและความเหนื่อยล้า และส่งเสริมความสำเร็จในการดำรงบทบาทมารดาของมารดาหลังคลอดที่มีภาวะความดันโลหิตสูงขณะตั้งครรภ์ชนิดรุนแรง
