Promoting analytical reading ability in early childhood By using stories together with graphic diagrams

Abstract

This research aimed to compare the analytical reading ability of early childhood children before and after participating in storytelling-and-graphic-diagrams activities. The subject was the early 5 - 6 year-old preschoolers who were studying in Kindergarten 3 in the first semester of the 2024 academic yearin UdonThani RajabhatUniversity Demonstration School under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. This was obtained from a purposive selection of 30 students. The research tools consisted of 1) a plan for organizing storytelling activities together with a graphical. It has a suitability value of 4.6, the highest level of suitability. The results of the congruence assessment (IOC) were equal to 0.93 and 2) the analytical reading ability assessment of early childhood children. The study was a quasi-experimental research (Pre-Experimental Design).

The results of comparing the analytical reading abilities of pre-school children demonstrated that by using stories together with graphic charts, the mean scores after the experiment were higher. Before the experiment, early childhood children had a total mean of 18.69, a standard deviation of 4.80, which was at a moderate level. However, after the experiment, early childhood children had an overall mean of 29.33, a standard deviation of 6.79, considered as a good level. In consideration of the pre-test and post-test scores, it was found that there was an overall mean difference of 10.63, with each aspect having the average values ​​of the differences as follows: Application and use had the highest mean value of 2.53, followed by the analysis of events in stories that had an average of 4.30, the data collection had an average of 3.20 and the story summary had an average value of 0.60, respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that after the experiment, early childhood children's analytical reading ability increased in all aspects with the statistical significance at 05. level.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ของเด็กปฐมวัยก่อนและหลังที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมการเล่านิทานร่วมกับผังกราฟิก กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ คือ เด็กปฐมวัย อายุ 5-6 ปี ที่กำลังศึกษาศึกษาชั้นอนุบาลปีที่ 3 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2567 โรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏอุดรธานี สังกัดกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม ซึ่งได้จากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง จำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเล่านิทานร่วมกับผังกราฟิก มีค่าความเหมาะสมเท่ากับ 4.6 ความเหมาะสมระดับมากที่สุด ผลการประเมินความสอดล้อง (IOC) มีค่าเท่ากับ 0.93 และ 2) แบบประเมินความสามารถในการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ของเด็กปฐมวัย การวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง (Pre-Experimental Design)

ผลการเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์ของเด็กปฐมวัย โดยใช้นิทานร่วมกับผังกราฟิก พบว่า ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนหลังการทดลองสูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนการทดลอง โดยก่อนการทดลองเด็กปฐมวัยมีค่าเฉลี่ยรวม เท่ากับ 18.69 ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เท่ากับ 4.80 อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และหลังการทดลองเด็กปฐมวัยมีค่าเฉลี่ยรวม เท่ากับ 29.33 ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน เท่ากับ 6.79 ระดับดี และเมื่อพิจารณาความต่างของคะแนนระหว่างก่อนและหลังการทดลอง พบว่า มีค่าเฉลี่ยของความต่างโดยรวมเท่ากับ 10.63 โดยในแต่ละด้านมีค่าเฉลี่ยของความต่าง ดังนี้ ด้านการประยุกต์และนำไปใช้ มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงที่สุดเท่ากับ 2.53 รองลงมาคือ ด้านการวิเคราะห์เหตุการณ์ในนิทาน มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4.30 ด้านการรวบรวมข้อมูล มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 3.20 และด้านการสรุปความสำคัญ มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 0.60 ตามลำดับ ดังนั้นจึงสรุปได้ว่า ภายหลังการทดลองเด็กปฐมวัยมีความสามารถในการอ่านเชิงวิเคราะห์เพิ่มขึ้นทุกด้าน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
