| dc.description.abstract | This study focuses on the Nanchang Wanshou Palace Historic and Cultural District to explore its dynamic relationship between cultural heritage preservation and Historical Consumption in the context of modern China. As an important cultural heritage in Jiangxi region, Nanchang Wanshou Palace not only witnesses the historical changes and social development of Jiangxi, but also embodies the unique charm of local culture. With the acceleration of modern urbanization, Wanshou Palace is facing the dual challenges of conservation and development, and how to realize the revival and sustainable development of cultural heritage while preserving the historical site has become the core issue of this study. Research objectives of this thesis include 1.To study the historical and cultural connotations of Wanshou Palace and reveal its deep roots as a cultural symbol. To explore its central role in the cultural heritage and social life of Jiangxi region.2 .To analyze the reconstruction process of the Wanshou Palace site in Nanchang, and to explore the concept of reproduction of the past, and the practice of architectural restoration and neighborhood preservation in the context of modern China.3 .To analyze the role of popular Historical Consumption in the conservation and utilization of Wanshou Palace.4 .To analyze the dynamic relationship between the reconstruction of the Wanshou Palace Historic and Cultural District and Historical Consumption in the context of modern China. Adopting qualitative research methods, this study has collected a large amount of first-hand information through historical document review, long-term field surveys and interviews. Combining historical document analysis, field surveys and interviews, this study restores the historical background of Wanshou Palace and provides an in-depth understanding of its practical application and impact in modern society. This multi-method integrated research approach provides the study with rich data support and a multi-faceted analytical perspective. Research Findings: 1. Cultural Symbolism and Core Status: Nanchang Wanshou Palace is not only the center of Taoist beliefs, but also a historical witness to the activities of Jiangxi merchant gangs, reflecting the cultural identity of the local society. Its architectural style combines elements of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, making it an important symbol of Gan culture and widely influential among Jiangxi immigrant communities around the globe.2. Reconstruction and reproduction of the past: Based on historical archives and archaeological findings, the conservation practice of the Nanchang Wanshou Palace has reconstructed the Iron Pillar Wanshou Palace, restored its architectural texture and enhanced architectural safety by using modern technology. The conservation practice of Nanchang Wanshougong is based on historical archives and archaeological research results. Neighborhood conservation follows the principle of “repairing the old as the old”, and at the same time introduces modern commercial facilities, realizing the organic combination of historical site protection and adaptive use.3. Role of Historical Consumption: Historical Consumption plays an important role in the conservation and utilization of Wanshou Palace. The popularity and attractiveness of Wanshou Palace has been significantly enhanced through tourism development, cultural and creative product design and the revival of traditional festivals. However, over-commercialization may lead to the symbolization and superficiality of cultural heritage, and a balance between conservation and development needs to be sought.4. Dynamic Relationship and Balance: The conservation and development practice of the Wanshou Palace in Nanchang demonstrates the combination of tradition and modernity. Through scientific conservation planning, rational functional zoning and dynamic management, Wanshou Palace has become a bridge connecting the past and present, tradition and modernity. This balanced strategy of conservation and consumption not only contributes to the enhancement of local cultural identity, but also provides valuable experience and inspiration for the conservation and utilization of other cultural sites. By analyzing the process of Historical Consumption reproduction and consumerization of Nanchang Wanshou Palace, this study suggests that a holistic approach to heritage conservation be adopted for future heritage preservation, taking into account both the physical preservation of the site and the maintenance of its cultural significance. Encourage community participation in decision-making processes related to heritage sites to ensure that local voices and needs are represented. Promote the use of technology and digital media to document, interpret and communicate cultural heritage to make it more accessible to a wider audience. Foster sustainable tourism practices that respect the cultural integrity of heritage sites while providing economic benefits to local communities. Encourage interdisciplinary research to better understand the complex dynamics involved in the conservation and consumption of cultural heritage. | en |
