Chao Anouvong Myths: The Politics of Narrative with the Construction of National Consciousness of Laoness

Abstract

The purposes of “Chao Anouvong Myths: The Politics of Narrative with the Construction of National Consciousness of Laoness” are to study that how the Chao Anouvong Myths as a political history in Laos has presented the politics of the story and how Chao Anouvong Myths played a role in National Consciousness of Laoness. The scope of the study is legendary subfamily both as written information such as book, article, dissertation, encyclopedia, chronicle, learning book, related printing media, collected oral information, and additional field data collections such as tale, song, dance, social action, and rite. Only Laos written information and oral information were studied. The study found that the Chao Anouvong Myths is one of the narrative history about the heroic king who was resurrected from the country's development policy called "New imagination" or economic reform to the liberalism that is the opening of the country for being a part of globalization.
