Features of Lyrics Dedicated to the Late King Rama IX

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to study the forms and essences of lyrics, and study the techniques of language used in lyrics of songs expressing subjects’ nasty grief toward King Rama IX’s passing away. It was based on the qualitative data, focusing on conceptual frames, word pattern forms, essences and means of the composed words of lyrics. Data were collected out of 93 song lyrics on media, YouTube and Facebook platforms, from October 13, 2559/2016 to March 27, 2560/2017.

The research found that 1) Rhyming word pattern forms of those songs have been of three types: 1.1) those with rhythmic patterns, 1.2) those following musical beats as played by bands of orchestra, folk songs, pop music, rap, hip-hop, reggae, and Thai classic music, 1.3) those following verse patterns imposed on poems as exactly equivalent as the original one.

2) There have been two main categories of song titles: 2.1. vocative titles, 2.2 metaphoric titles. Specifically, lyrics of songs under 2.2 have reflected three-time dimensions and others: 1) incidents prior to the monarch’s demise, 2) current events of subjects’ heartfelt grieves, 3) subjects’ sorrowful obsessions, 4) royal engagements, 5) allegiance toward the deceased monarch, and 6) honor tributes to the departed one.

3) Words in lyrics of songs expressing subjects’ remorse have characterized: 3.1 the selection on figures of sounds and rhymes, semantic lexicons based on poetic mechanism of semantic creation, word dictions of vocatives in royal words or alternative words, local dialect words, and common words, 3.2 implementation of the figurative words involving nominal significance, metaphor, simile and hyperbole.

งานวิจัยเล่มนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบ เนื้อหา และกลวิธีทางภาษาในบทเพลงแสดงความไว้อาลัยแด่พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลย ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) และใช้กรอบแนวคิดรูปแบบและเนื้อหาบทเพลงและกลวิธีทางภาษาโดยเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากบทเพลงจำนวน 93 บทเพลงซึ่งมีการเผยแพร่ตั้งแต่วันที่ 13 ตุลาคม 2559 ถึงวันที่ 27 มีนาคม 2560 จากสื่อออนไลน์ต่าง ๆ ผ่านยูทูป (YouTube) และเฟซบุ๊ก (Facebook)

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) รูปแบบบทประพันธ์ในบทเพลงแสดงความไว้อาลัยมี 3 ประเภท ได้แก่ 1) รูปแบบโครงสร้างของเพลงตามคีตลักษณ์ 2) รูปแบบประเภทของแนวเพลงนิยมแต่งตามรูปแบบของดนตรีได้แก่ แนวออร์เคสตรา (orchestra) หรือวงดุริยางค์ แนวโฟล์ค (Folk) แนวป๊อป (Pop Music) แนวเพลงแร็พ (Rap) หรือ ฮิป-ฮอป(Hip-Hop) แนวเพลงเร็กเก้ (reggae) และแนวเพลงไทยเดิม 3) รูปแบบตามลักษณะคำประพันธ์มีรูปแบบคำประพันธ์ใกล้เคียงฉันทลักษณ์เดิม ทางด้านการตั้งชื่อบทเพลง พบว่ามีการตั้งชื่อ 2 ประเภท ได้แก่ 1) การตั้งชื่อโดยใช้พระนามของพระองค์ และ 2) วิธีการใช้อุปลักษณ์ ทางด้านเนื้อหาของบทเพลงมีเนื้อหาได้สะท้อนให้เห็นเหตุการณ์ต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ 1) เรื่องราวเหตุการณ์การสวรรคต 2) ความเศร้าสะเทือนใจในการสวรรคต 3) การอาลัยอาวรณ์ 4) พระราชกรณียกิจ 5) การแสดงความจงรักภักดี 6) การเทิดพระเกียรติ ส่วนทางด้านกลวิธีทางภาษาในบทเพลงแสดงความไว้อาลัยนั้น พบว่า 1) การใช้คำโดยการเลือกใช้เสียง การเล่นเสียงสัมผัสและความหมายของคำ มีการใช้กลวิธีในการสร้างความหมายโดยการซ้ำคำ การเลือกสรรคำเรียกหรือคำแทน การใช้คำภาษาถิ่น การใช้คำสามัญ 2) การใช้โวหาร โวหารที่นำมาใช้ ได้แก่ นามนัย อุปลักษณ์ อุปมาและปฏิรูปพจน์
