The Development of Problem - Solving Ability by Using Situation - Based Learning with the Six Thinking Hats Technique of Matthayomsuksa 5 Students in Chemistry

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop Matthayomsuksa 5 students' problem-solving ability in the electrochemistry to pass the criteria 70 percent by using Situation Based Learning with the Six Thinking Hats Technique. This research was the type of action research which consists of 3 cycles. The target group consists of 31 Mathayomsuksa 5 students at Sarakham Pittayakom School, selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study were 1) the 9 Situation-Based Learning with the Six Thinking Hats technique lesson plan, in the topic of the electrochemistry with 14 hours of learning, 2) the 3 sets of problem - solving ability tests which each comprising 3 scenarios, 3) the behaviors observation of problem-solving ability, and the 4) student interviews. The data was analyzed by using mean, percentage, and standard deviation.

The research presented that in the first cycle, 13 students passed the problem-solving abilities criterion 70%, equivalent to 41.94%. In the second cycle, 20 students passed the problem-solving abilities criterion 70%, equivalent to 64.52%. In the third cycle, 28 students passed the problem-solving abilities criterion 70%, equivalent to 90.32%. In summary, students who received learning activities developed higher problem-solving abilities. Thus, the learning activities using situation-based learning with the six thinking hats technique can enhance the problem-solving abilities of the targeted group of students.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาของนักเรียนที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้สถานการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิคการคิดแบบหมวกหกใบ รายวิชาเคมี ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ให้ผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 ซึ่งการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ใช้รูปแบบการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ จำนวน 3 วงรอบปฏิบัติการ กลุ่มเป้าหมายเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนสารคามพิทยาคม จำนวน 31 คน ซึ่งได้มาจากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้สถานการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิคการคิดแบบหมวกหกใบ เรื่องไฟฟ้าเคมี จำนวน 9 แผนการเรียนรู้ เวลา 14 ชั่วโมง 2) แบบวัดความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาแบบอัตนัย จำนวน 3 ชุด ชุดละ 3 สถานการณ์ 3) แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหา 4) แบบสัมภาษณ์นักเรียน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า วงรอบปฏิบัติการที่ 1 นักเรียนมีความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 จำนวน 13 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 41.94 วงรอบปฏิบัติการที่ 2 นักเรียนมีความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 จำนวน 20 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 64.52 และวงรอบปฏิบัติการที่ 3 นักเรียนมีความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 จำนวน 28 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 90.32 สรุปได้ว่านักเรียนที่ได้รับการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้มีการพัฒนาความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาที่สูงขึ้น ดังนั้นการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยใช้สถานการณ์เป็นฐานร่วมกับเทคนิคการคิดแบบหมวกหกใบสามารถพัฒนาความสามารถในการคิดแก้ปัญหาของนักเรียนกลุ่มเป้าหมายได้
